Third Person's POV
┕━━━━━━━⋯━━━━━━━┙The hospital corridors were thick with tension, broken only by the occasional beep of monitors and the hurried footsteps of nurses. Three days had passed since Varlet was rushed into surgery, and the air was heavy with worry and anticipation. Members of Shadow Eclipse lingered in the waiting room, their eyes red from sleepless nights.
Sky, on the other hand, was dealing with the aftermath of the incident, interrogating the outsiders they had captured. But despite being caught up in the chaos, he couldn't shake off the nagging thoughts of Princess. Her words, the coldness in her voice, the distance she put between them-everything kept replaying in his mind. He was lost in a whirlwind of questions with no answers, and Princess, who had always been his anchor, was nowhere to be found.
Where was she? What did she mean by 'sister'? Bakit bigla na lang siyang nawala? He had tried reaching out, but his messages went unanswered. With each passing moment, his restlessness grew, torn between his duty and his worry for her.
-Meanwhile.
Somewhere far from the chaos of the hospital, Princess found herself in a place that felt oddly soothing. Three days had passed since she was last seen at the hospital, and she had spent that time healing-physically and emotionally. But she wasn't alone. The person with her had become her lifeline, nagbibigay sa kanya ng suporta sa gitna ng bagyong sumakop sa kanyang buhay.
As the days passed, she started feeling more like herself again, her strength slowly returning.
The door to the room creaked open, and Princess stepped inside, her heart racing as she saw Angelo standing there. It still felt surreal, as if she was dreaming. He was here, right in front of her, after everything they had been through. Her voice trembled as she spoke, "Angelo... I still can't believe you're here with me.."
Angelo stepped closer, wrapping his arms around her with a gentle urgency. Princess clung to him, her fingers gripping his shirt tightly. The fear of losing him was still fresh, but having him there now was a comfort she had longed for.
"I thought I lost you," she whispered, her voice breaking. "I thought you were gone forever. My world felt so empty without you."
Angelo held her closer, his voice filled with regret and tenderness. "I'm so sorry, darling, my princess. I had to pretend to be dead for reasons I can't fully explain right now. But it was the hardest thing I've ever done."
Princess shook her head, pressing her face into his chest. "Wala na akong pakialam sa dahilan. What matters is that you're here now. We're together, and that's all that counts."
Angelo's voice wavered with guilt. "I should have reached out sooner. I was a coward... and I didn't. I'm sorry... so sorry."
He pulled back slightly, looking into her eyes with a tender expression, gently cupping her cheek. "I've been watching over you, making sure you were safe. I dealt with anyone who might have found out you were the Hutchison heiress. It's not much, but it was the only way I could protect you."
Princess's heart softened. "You're not a coward, Angelo. You did what you needed to do to keep us safe. And even though you were away, I always felt you were with me. I had this feeling that you were still there, even if I couldn't see you."
A soft smile played on Angelo's lips. "That's because I was with you, my Princess. Every time you were with Ace, it was actually me. We switched places so I could be with you. That's why Ace always wore a facemask... to keep up the illusion."
