Jungkook stared at the colored painting that resembled him perfectly interlocking hands with a boy very similar to the one in his dreams.

"W-what is this?" He asked Yeri, that looked at him with worry in her eyes.

"U-um, look I know this looks creepy but I don't know why my friend's best friend looks exactly like you", she sighed, "when I first saw you I was very shocked too, but I really don't know." She tried to explain.

"Your friend's bestfriend? Who?" He asked quickly, he felt absolutely puzzled.

"I don't know, I never met his bestfriend but I once saw him staring at this painting and he told me it was of him and his bestfriend, he said that he drew it himself so I asked if I could have it because I was very impressed by it and he gave it to me." She said half smiling recalling Taehyung's happy face when she complimented his art.

"What's the name of your friend?" He asked, feeling his breath hitch.

"Taehyung. Kim Taehyung." Yeri said.

______

Taehyung hesitated on either to knock on the door infront of him or not, he felt conflicted because he feared that the family inside the house will misunderstand his intentions, he then took a deep breath and decided to knock.

"Who is it?" A woman's voice said.

"I'm Taehyung, Yeri's friend and a soon to be military servant." He lied.

He heard a gasp, then a shaky voice asked, "W-why d-did you c-come?"

"I'm not here to shame you or anyone in this respected family, I came here to ask you a few questions to try to understand the situation more to make sure it never happens again." Taehyung said calmly.

He heard a sigh as the door unlocked and the face of a woman seeming in her 50s appeared before him.

"You can come in." She said.

"Thank you." He replied, getting in.

He followed her inside after removing his shoes and sitting down infront of the woman.

"Can you tell me why do you think Yeri escaped." Taehyung started in a serious voice.

He was professional at acting as he needed to do that for almost all of his life.

She sighed, "I think she just wanted to follow her stray brother." She finally said.

(A/N: Did you see what I did there hahaha anyways back to the story)

His eyes furrowed, "What did her brother do?" he asked in a calm tone.

"He escaped two weeks before she did, I think he must have helped her commit such a crime." She said looking sad.

"How could he do that?" He asked.

"I think they had a way to communicate while she was here, as it is dangerous to try to cross the borders alone yet she did it and succeeded and I haven't heard about her ever since, the plan sounds too perfect for her to do it alone." She said as she fought back tears, she couldn't accept the fact that both of her children were infidel to the country.

"Can you tell me who were Yeri and her brother close to?" He asked, as his heart started beating uncontrollably.

"I'm not sure, they never mentioned anyone really." She said.

"Alright, thank you for answering my questions" he said as he bowed, she nodded as he left the house.

As he walked down the streets he sighed loudly, he barely got any informations from the woman, but at least he knew that she had an escapee brother as well, he wondered if there was any way he could contact them or the people who helped them.

He suddenly remembered his father, he had a south korean friend but he never knew how did he actually get to know him, he felt hopelessness raise inside him as he stared at nothing in particular.

He wondered if he was more of a coward because he wanted to commit suicide, or if he was more of a coward because he never tried to cross the chinese borders and break free, the worst thing that can happen is him getting cought and facing his death, which isn't really a worse scenario.

They say those who commit suicide don't really want to die, they just want to be saved.

Crossing the chinese borders is the safest dangerous way, as the south korean borders are not a choice considering that they are the most heavely militarised borders in the world.

There are two ways to cross the chinese borders, the Yalu river and the Tumen river, most people choose the Tumen river as it is easier to cross, yet it's still pretty dangerous as it's also well guarded.

He shook his head in disappointment and made his way to his house where he met his mother.

"I'm home." He announced.

His mother greeted him with a smile as she said, "Welcome home son."

"How are you feeling? Are you still tired?" He asked worry evident in his expressions.

"I'm fine, I feel much better today." She said.

He smiled his boxy smile, "I'm glad." he replied.

"Come here, I made soup." She said.

He looked at the small bowl of soup in the table that contained an amount clearly not enough for two people, he smiled and said, "No mom, I'm sure you need to eat more than me, you can eat it by yourself."

"No I told you I'm fine, you can join me." She said, dark circles under her eyes and Taehyung knew she was lying.

"No, I'm not really hungry, I'll go to my room." He said walking to his room not leaving her an opportunity to protest.

She smiled sadly at her son, he always cared about her and made sure she was the first priority, even if he was starving, he never complained.

Taehyung made his way to the room and laid down, he was indeed hungry but he could manage, it was not the first time he went to bed without dinner.

His thoughts drifted to the handsome boy of his dreams, he wished he could dream about him tonight as he really felt hopeless at the moment, and he craved his comfort, he craved his affection and the way he made him feel, he wanted to hear him telling him that everything was going to be okay.

He smiled and took a look at his drawings, he had over 368 drawings of the male, he just really enjoyed thinking about him and trying to remember every detail about him.

He soon took his pen and paper and started drawing his "imaginary" lover, in an attempt to comfort himself.
