Rhyme was completely stunned, confused and a small part of her wanted to envelope him in a hug but she restrained herself her expression on her face puzzled,
"i-i didn't know you went here" her voice matched her expression and sam couldn't help but smile then it clicked in him,
This shouldn't be happening the girl he had spent years hating should not be stood in front of him covered in coffee......burning hot coffee
"oh shit!" he exclaimed taking rhyme aback before he reached for his bag taking out a spare t-shirt from inside it and practically shoving it at her then taking out a water bottle opening it up.
"take your shirt off" he demanded then mentally slapped himself looking at her confused expression "i mean so you can pour the water on your skin for the burn"
Rhyme's conscious clicked and she felt the extreme pain on her chest so she pulled her coffee stained white jumper off leaving her in her lace under shirt dropping it to the ground and taking the bottle gladly pouring it onto herself wincing at the pain.
"im so sorry" he apologised worry coursing through him
"it's fine it'll heal" she replied rubbing the water on her chest "how are you anyway?" she asked changing the subject and ignoring the pain she was feeling
"im...good yeah im good are you sure you're okay" he asked worriedly
Rhyme forced a smile and slipped the shirt he had gave her on
" im fine, i've been through worse than a little bit of hot coffee" rhyme said jokingly but he just frowned more thinking back to that dreadful day two years ago
"sam i'm okay it's all good" she said this time more sternly reassuring him only a little
"let me take you to your dorm so you can take a cold shower" he said ignoring her words and began to walk away
Rhyme grabbed her things and followed suit of the determined boy trying to convince him that she would be fine but he just brushed it off heading in the direction of the dorms.
They reached rhymes dorm room and thats when she looked at him questionably before taking her keys out
"you really didn't have to walk me here i would've been perfectly fine" rhyme argued walking in the room putting her things down "wait how did you know where my dorm is?"
He froze up "um....a friend?" he said unsurely
"okay.....anyway considering we are here i might aswell shower make yourself comfortable or whatever i'll be about ten minutes" rhyme explained going through her drawers and taking some clothes out before walking into the bathroom leaving him alone
He sat on her bed slapping his hand repeatedly against his face 'so much for staying away from her you idiot' he subconsciously told himself and his phone vibrated in his pocket he took it out frowning harder.
She didn't deserve this, any of it but there was nothing he could do he didn't know her anymore she could be a complete different person for all he knew but by the very picture on his phone screen he knew that wasn't true and that she was the same
'tk just sent me this phew rhyme got hot af' ace had written in a group chat with a picture attachment that was clearly mean't for tk and tk only.
'delete this now' sam typed
'mmm we all know you're just jealous sam that tk got her that he got to see all that in real life just admit it sammy boi' ace replied and sam scowled at his phone
"why the long face?" rhymes voice asked and he looked up there she stood in a grey shirt and jeans his shirt in hand but he couldn't just sit there acting like everything was okay and say nothing
"ummm a friend they need my help i should go" his words were rushed obvious he was lying and he stood up rushing out before rhyme could say anything
"i thought we-" but he was gone before she could finish her sentence "could catch up" she mumbled left in complete confusion as she fell back onto her bed groaning.
