1 year,
2 years
go idly by.
She remembers when they became friends.
6 long years before.
She remembers the girl she used to be:
happy,
smiling,
a Force to be Reckoned with,
and She wonders how She lost Herself.
She goes away, to college.
She makes new friends.
She introduces them to him.
She hopes they will get along.
They don't.
he hates Her new friends.
he tells Her she should be without them.
he tells Her that only he can love Her the way that She deserves.
She wants to believe him.
She wants to trust him.
She is growing tired of carrying his art.
She is tired of harnessing his rage.
She is tired of being beaten down.
She begins changing.
Eating more.
Drinking more.
Staying up later.
She is talking.
About him.
Her family.
She finds that She likes life better when he,
and his rage,
aren't in it.
She wants to leave him.
She doesn't know how.
Thank God for Vodka and text-messaging.
