She loved Him.
He learned Her.
He never pushed,
never groped,
never hurt Her.
Her nightmares eased,
never truly leaving,
but,
for the first time,
She finally felt
Free.
Free to be Herself.
Free to walk,
talk,
read,
stare at trees,
eat,
drink,
be happy.
She was finally free.
She never stopped shrinking when
someone raised their voice,
their hand,
their temper,
but He made sure that no one hurt Her.
She learned that Her story was not the default.
She learned that fear was not the only path.
She learned that She could trust Herself.
Love isn't the opposite of Fear:
The opposite of Fear is
Freedom.
He gave Her a way to find Her voice,
Her convictions,
Her own path.
He never claimed to be Her salvation;
He only wanted to help Her find it.
