She realizes her mistake.
She escapes him,
She thinks.
She cannot sleep,
cannot eat,
cannot breathe.
She thinks She sees him wherever She is.
She thinks She hears him in the night.
She wakes up in a cold sweat, fearing the worst.
She smiles, fakes it, and tells everyone She has moved on.
She is scared to date.
Specifically men.
She is scared to be alone.
Specifically with men.
She is scared of everything.
She goes to therapy,
gets put on pills.
She thinks She is doing better,
but recovery's battle is always uphill.
She writes poetry.
She sings in the shower.
She tries to forget him,
to lessen his power over Her.
She stops painting.
The red constellations are no more, though
their shadows will forever remain.
She thinks She is happy.
She needs some work,
but She is
Bent,
not Broken,
and there is hope for Her yet.
