no matter how many times it rings,
i will never answer.
i vowed to never touch the keys again,
or i shall fall back into your pyramid scheme.

~

you call from different numbers,
asking if your own has been misplaced,
saying sorry again and again.
no, i say, but in my mind your name has been erased.

you ask to meet up,
for the fifth time.
i say that there will be no where and when,
you should be hung up on your crime.

you've pressed my buttons too many times.
so let the phone ring,
loudly like my sobs and cries.

oh no more do i sob and cry!

for i have found something better,
something that you could never take away.
this saying is nineteen letters,
i think to myself "tomorrows another day".

so i call you up,
in the middle of the night.
the steam of my hot tea wisps away from my cup ,
bringing a small smile to my face.

you don't pick up,
i do not sigh.
i simply pick up my cup and sip from it,
waiting for what comes next.
"please leave a message at the beep."
and i reply,
"go and find your path,
for i finally bid you goodbye."

you have asked for a second chance, yet i have given you too many of them
