My eyes opened to the darkness of my room. I moved to my side to check the clock.

3:11am

The sound of a violin was filling the room as it came from upstairs. I groaned as I pulled my blanket up and over my head, trying to block out the noise.

Who plays the violin at 3am?

I threw the blanket off my body as I sighed. Normally I love the sound of the violin but not at this time of night...
I got out of bed, my feet touching the cold hard-wood floor as I stood up, grabbed my silk robe and walked out of the room. I slowly made my way up the stairs and noticed the door at the top was open. I stood in the doorway, crossing my arms over my chest as I starred at the dark haired man standing by the window, playing.

Suddenly the music stopped, "it's not polite to stare."

My eyes widened as I hadn't known he was aware of my presence.

"You woke me." I said, not moving.

"I do my best thinking at night" he replied.

"And your best playing?"

His eyes moved from mine and quickly scanned up and down my body, reminding me that I was only wearing pyjamas shorts, a tank top and a silk robe. He cleared his throat as he turned around and began playing again. I tightened the robe across my front as I went into the kitchen to grab some water. I took a sip of my water as I walked back to the stairs, watching him the entire time. There was something about him I couldn't understand, he was a mystery. Like a code I couldn't crack.

"I'm headed out to the shops deary, shall I grab you anything?" Mrs. Hudson asked as I sat at the kitchen table, finishing up a poster I'd made for my classroom.

"Im alright, thank you" i replied, briefly looking up to give her a smile.

"I'll be back in a jiff" She said as she walked away.

My fingers were covered glue and construction paper was scattered across the table top as I added the final touches to my masterpiece. I sighed as I sat back in my chair, finally finished. It took longer than expected but I was happy with the result and excited to add more of a personal touch to the workspace. I washed my hands as I finished cleaning and made myself a cup of tea. Sherlock then walked by, but stopped suddenly when he saw the bright colourful numbers on the table.

"Like it?" I asked.

He looked at me, "you made it?"

I shook my head before taking a sip of tea.

He huffed then walked away hastily to the living room.

Thanks...

Suddenly I heard the door open and a pair of feet walk up the stairs. John came into view and said hello as we made eye contact.

"You made that?" He asked while pointing to my poster.

"I did" I smiled.

"Well done" he nodded.

"Thank you!" I said a little louder, hoping Sherlock would hear.

I rolled up my poster and held it in my arm getting ready to go back downstairs. Sherlock and John were talking about some case in the living room and all I wanted to do was lay down and nap. I then heard another mans voice, causing me to turn my head as I put my tea cup in the sink.

"How many times Sherlock?" The man said as he came into view.

Sherlock didn't say anything as he continued to sit at the desk.

I tried my best to walk quietly out of the kitchen but both the man and John looked over at me.

"Sorry" I said shyly. "Just going downstairs."

The man stuck out his hand for me to take, "Greg Lestrade."

"(Y/N) (Y/L/N), I just moved in." I replied.

"Wow, really?" He asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Pass me a pen?" Sherlock interrupted.

We all looked over at him and John leaned over to hand him a pen from the coffee table.

"Well, I'll let you be" I smiled before making my way downstairs.

"Lovely to meet you" Lestrade said, causing me to look back.

My eyes then caught a glimpse of Sherlock, his head now looking straight forward instead of down at the desk like it had been since he sat down. I smiled at Lestrade then walked down the stairs and to my room, closing the door behind me.

"Good morning class!" I said excitedly as I stood in the front of the classroom.

"Good morning Ms. (y/n/l)" they all said back.

I couldn't believe I was finally a teacher. All the hard work, all the all-nighters, all the stress over exams... it was all finally paying off and I was finally here, finally where I've wanted to be since I was 12 years old.
The day went by well, all the students behaved and all the introductions to the lessons went by smoothly. Towards the end of the day i decided to do an exercise where each one was able to ask me one question, can be serious or silly, to get me know better as their teacher. Of course most of them went for the silly and we all had a good time.

"What's your favourite flavour of ice cream?" One asked.

"Chocolate" I answered.

"Favourite video game?" The next asked.

"Hmm, Mario kart"

"Do you have a boyfriend?" Another student asked and the rest started to giggle.

"Now, I don't think that's a very appropriate question Riley..." I said, raising my eyebrows.
"Would you like to ask another?"

This went on until the end of school and they all packed up their stuff, leaving me alone once again.
