"I must say, I'm impressed" Blendin was saying. "You managed to take out twelve fully trained time agents in five minutes and finish building a doomsday device. I'm sure your mother would have been proud."

Athena pushed her brother with the invention behind her protectively.

"Get. Away" she said through gritted teeth, glaring directly into Blendin's eyes in an unyielding manner.

Blendin only smirked and stepped even closer to her, but she didn't budge, only narrowed her eyes and stood even taller.

"You sure have gotten a whole lot bolder since the last time we met" he said, as he raised his weapon and aimed it directly at her chest.

"But audacity is nothing compared to a laser gun."

Just as he was squeezing the trigger, Athena snatched the marble device out of her pocket, and threw it onto the ground in front of her.

She and her brother with the invention were encased inside a protective blue bubble just as the laser hit them.

The force from the collision was so strong that the twins were actually blown right through the wall and road, and back outside.

They were shooting through the air for only a few seconds before the bubble started to fall back down to the Earth.

The twins gripped onto each other and screams were ripped from their throats as they collided into the hard ground, the protective bubble shattering upon impact.

Athena groaned as she forced herself to get up, her arms shaking when she first put weight on them.

However, she forgot all about her pain when she saw her brother lying a few yards away from her among a pile of debris, his body completely still.

Her eyes widened.

"Aris!"

She pushed her pain aside as she bolted over to him, falling to her knees at his side. She held him up in a sitting position against the pile of debris.

He groaned in pain as his eyes slowly fluttered open.

A smile crossed over her features.

"Aris! You're alive!"

He squinted his eyes in confusion.

"Who's Aris?" he asked.

Panic hit Athena like a bucket of ice water, and her heart rate soared even higher than a rocket being launched into space.

Aris suddenly started laughing mischievously.

"Sorry, Thena, I couldn't resist."

Normally, Athena would have smacked his face off, but honestly she was so relieved he was okay that she instead wrapped her arms around him in another embrace.

Suddenly, the pile of debris that Aris had been leaning against started to vanish, and he yelped as he hurriedly stood up and backed away from it before it completely disappeared.

All around them, numerous items were starting to dissipate all at the same time at a rapid pace.

Fire hydrants, lamp posts, house remains.

Even a random cat that had been wandering around suddenly disappeared without a trace.

Athena turned towards her brother with wide eyes.

"How much time do we have left until the device goes off?"

Aris glanced at the screen before turning it so that she could see.
