Our Wedding Band

Chapter Eight –

“I’ll be right back.” Matty told us all as we arrived at this concert hall. I had no idea why we were here but I was eager to find out. He slipped out the back into an unseen room, I was curious to find out what was going on.

“Is everyone here?” Braison asked Tyson who had mysteriously appeared in front of us.

“Yeah, they are all here.” he smiled widely looking directly at me.

“What’s going on?” I asked smiling, I was completely confused but had a feeling this was something to do with why Braison ditched me on the plane.

“You ready?” He asked me, squeezing my hand; I nodded so we started following Tyson into the mysterious room.

As we walked through the doors, I noticed this was a rather large theatre, I could hear people murmuring my first guess was that Braison had organised a movie night in this huge theatre. But when we turned the corner and I saw what was going on my mouth dropped completely open.

“What on earth?” I managed to ask, looking around at the tons of people staring back at me, I turned around to face the stage...yes a stage he’d organised a concert right here for me.

“You did this?” I asked, turning to face him and at first he looked away embarrassed but eventually he looked me in the eye and nodded.

“This is for you, on the night before you’re Mrs Meyers.” He whispered planting a loving kiss upon my forehead.

“Tyson will show you to your seat, I just have to go do something for a second.” He went onto the stage and behind the curtain. I stared out into the crowd of familiar faces, my cousins, and friends both famous and non famous as well as past and current co stars. I couldn’t believe that they’d all flown over to Australia for me, this was unreal.

“Jayde, stop gawking at the audience and sit down!” Tyson instructed, pulling me over to our front row seats.

“Sorry.” I whispered before doing what I was told. Not long after I took my seat between Rocky and Tyson, the lights were switched off and the curtain was drawn.

“Thank you all for coming here tonight.” My fiancé greeted the crowd, they all cheered which made him very happy.

“I bet you all know why I’ve invited you all here this evening right?” he asked and everyone cheered yet again.

“To celebrate the one person who I want to spend the rest of my life with, everybody give it up for Jayde!” now I had to bury my head into Tyson’s shoulder, this was embarrassing but not in the pee your pants in kindergarten kind of way, more like the everyone is looking at me embarrassment.

Tyson beside me squeezed my hand, and Rocky gave me a friendly nudge.

“Now for our first act, I’d like to welcome a friend of mine to the stage, give it up for the one and only Miley Cyrus!”

“How ya’ll doin’ tonight?” she addressed us, as she appeared dressed in a very elegant black dress she looked like a goddess, absolutely stunning I tell you! And her husband noticed it too.

“This song is for all the lovers in the audience tonight, and for a very special couple, who own a piece of my heart.”

She started to sing one of my favourite songs:

“L is for the way you look at me

O is for the only one I see

V is very, very extraordinary

E is even more than anyone that you adore and

Love is all that I can give to you

Love is more than just a game for two

Two in love can make it

Take my heart and please don't break it

Love was made for me and you”

I couldn’t help but tear up as one of my closet friends was singing to me, and a crowd of the people who have been important parts in my life.

“Last night was crazy and today it's setting in. Did you really mean it and could you say it again? Oh-oh, even if you just say it over the phone. Come on, ring, ring, ring.” The voice of Demi Lovato filled my ears, my mouth literally fell open. I’d met Demi only a few times before but we weren’t exactly friends, she was one of my idols in fact. I just had to scan the room in search of Braison, just to let him know how happy this was making me. But unfortunately he wasn’t in sight.

“Love makes me crazy, restless, dumb and paranoid but I'll take a chance on us and hope you don't destroy my heart just give me one guarantee, I'm the only girl you see what you say, boy?” What happened next was unbelievable; Matty came up behind Demi and started singing along.

“You're my only shorty, you're my only shorty I'm telling you the truth, girl, it's only you, you're my only, you're my only, you're my only one and only. You're my only shorty, am I your only shorty? You're my only shorty, am I your only shorty? I'm telling you the truth, oh, girl, it's only you, you’re my only, you're my only, you're my only, you're my only shorty.”

They put on quite a show; Demi pushed him around acting like she would dump him if he turned out to be a liar, and they were both unbelievably brilliant. The crowd were going wild, and so was I.

“Every day and night you got an open invitation, whoa As long as I'm your one and only destination

Fly-y-y with me, I'll be your fantasy, oh, yeah. You're in demand but baby, baby, so am I but if you're weak and try to sneak I'll have to tell you bye, bye I'm a put you on the spot. Am I your only girl or not? What you say, boy, woo.”

When they had finished the song I leapt out of my seat to applaud them, not even noticing that Rocky, Callum and Tyson had disappeared from the crowd.

“Ladies and gentleman give it up for Demi Lovato!” Matty cheered, kissing her on her cheek just before she ducked backstage. I cheered one more time before sitting back down. I then noticed that the boys had gone. It didn’t seem suspicious; in fact I hardly took any notice.

“This next act is one of Jayde’s favourite bands, and they’ll be singing one of her old favourites so put your hands together for McFly!” Matty ran backstage, my heart started racing as I saw the faces of those boys coming onto the stage.

“This one is for Jayde.” And then the music started to play.

“You and I have got alot in common we share all the same problems Luck, love and life aren't on our side I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time always the last one in a long line waiting for something to turn out right, right” Goosebumps started to form on my arms as I listened to the beautiful music.

“I'm starting to fall in love Its getting too much Not often that I slip up Its just my luck, yeah, yeah Rain clouds are gathering in numbers Just when I put away my jumper Luck and love still aren't on my side And I still refuse to be a skeptic Cause I know how you could still correct this Maybe this will be my lucky night, night I'm starting to fall in love Its getting too much It’s not often that I slip up Its just my luck, Just my luck, Just my luck, Just my luck. Yeah, it’s just my luck, just my luck, just my luck, Just my luck, Something to turn out right, just my luck!” They sang, and I began to sing along.

“I'm starting to fall in love, it’s getting too much, not often that I slip up, It’s just my luck. It’s just my luck”

I just couldn’t believe Braison would do something like this for me!
