You Got Me...

The man walked up to me, a confused expression on his face. "(Y/n)? What are you doing here?"

I laughed and gently hugged him, "I was invited! Oh, but I guess I didn't mention that in class huh?"

He shook his head and a small chuckle came from him, "No. That was a detail that you missed."

I pushed Maya forward gently, not thinking anything of it. "Oh! This is my friend-"

"Maya." he cut me off, voice strained by several emotions attempting to peak out at once.

I looked between the two of them, and everything clicked. The way they stared at each other and the faint blush on Maya's cheeks had me cooing. She slowly took a few steps forward, coming closer to us, until she stood right next to me and directly in front of him.

"Joonie..." her voice was shy and soft, and I took a step back, the whole scene so intimate I felt like I was intruding.

He took her hand and leaned forward, very sweetly kissing her hand, "It's been a long time."

Namjoon's voice was a breathless glee as he held tightly to her hand, pulling her closer to him, and she followed willingly.

Starting to feel like a third wheel, I butted in. "I didn't know your Joonie was Namjoon!" I giggled softly.

She turned to me, her head tilted slightly. "How do you know each other?"

I gestured to Namjoon who was still holding the girl's hand, "He came into my studio for a lesson. He's a student of mine."

Her eyes widened and she slowly wrapped her arm through his, "That's so cool! What a small world."

I laughed, "So, Maya was the one you were all flustered about in the studio, hm?"

Namjoon flushed darkly and rubbed the back of his neck, while Maya giggled by his side.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! Thank you so much for gracing us with your presence here tonight. My family and I thank you."

The deep booming voice came from the balcony, where the same man I had met on my date with Jin stood proudly in a fine black suit. A beautiful blonde woman stood by his side, dressed in a silk green gown. I looked around them but didn't see anyone else, and I grew confused. The audience clapped politely, sharing my confusion.

The man laughed at our collective response, "Ah! You must be wondering about my son's revelation!" He used the arm that wasn't holding his wife and gestured over the ballroom.

"They are here! Enjoying this evening with you in their own way. To add a little fun to our gathering, their identities will not be revealed until this evening's end!"

The audience ooed and awed at the announcement and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"Are they always this dramatic?" I whispered to the couple next to me.

Namjoon covered his mouth to hide his chortle and Maya flat out laughed. I smiled at our little group, thankful I found them so I wouldn't be alone tonight.

"A show is always performed for those who need the extra distraction." Namjoon's words made me smirk slightly.

The man on the balcony continued, "I do hope you have been enjoying the festivities and yourself! Help yourself to refreshments! Our wonderful orchestra will continue to play the most splendid music, so, please! Dance at your leisure... If you can."

The audience clapped and Namjoon leaned over slightly.

"You both look lovely by the way." His eyes were on Maya as he said it, but I thanked him anyway.
