After Maggie left, I went up to my room and laid down, and just relaxed. That was a lot of commotion.
I opened up my book again, and read more about Gemma's adventures.
Just as I was reading a page, my eyes started closing slowly. My head fell too, I caught myself but just decided to sleep.
As I put my book down, I didn't even bother to change into my pj's, I went straight to sleep.

I woke up to a loud roar, and when I opened my eyes there was a piercing light, streaming through my curtains.
I jumped quickly off the bed and ran downstairs for Maggie. When I got down there, she was standing on the porch and gesturing someone in.
I got to her side and watched as a huge group of people, trudged up our path, and in front of the porch light.
"He's in here Mrs.Grimes" Maggie said to the lady with brown hair. I looked at her and she slowly walked up the stairs and through the front door.
After everyone piled in, I stepped through the door too, shutting out the cool air. "Where's my boy?" Exclaimed the lady, who was in tears.
I pointed to the living room and she looked at me, nodded and headed in. Maggie smiled at me,before following the rest of them.
Walking in behind her, I seen the lady crouching over her son and crying. She kissed his forehead, got up again and walked to the sheriff.
He got up and hugged her, rubbing her back. She cried into his shoulder which only turned into muffled sobs, that echoed through the quiet house.

Sitting down in the kitchen, I overheard Maggie and Lori talking about children. I know Maggie has always wanted a child but she never got around to actually settling down for one.
As they were talking I looked over to the boy, who just lay there limp. He didn't look to peaceful, but hey would you if you got shot?.
Getting off the chair I sat on, I walked over to the boy, and just watched him for a while. I don't know why but he just reminds me of someone I used to know.
There was this boy in my class, it was grade 7, he had short light brown hair and these sky blue eyes. He was my best friend.
We did everything together. He was like my brother. He was protective, funny, annoying at times, and serious when he had to be.
I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard slow footsteps behind me. When I turned around I seen Beth smiling. "How's he doin?" She asked. I smiled and nodded "pretty good I guess" I replied. She nodded in response.
I turned back to him, when his mother walked in the room. She smiled and stepped by my side. "So do you know him?" She asked. I looked up at her and shrugged a bit. "I don't know" I replied. It was the truth though. "Its just, when I look at him, I see so much of my old friend, but I lost him" I frowned. She side hugged me like my momma used to.
I smiled and hugged her back. "Well my boy went through the same thing. Had a best friend named Danielle. They lost touch when the rotters started." She explained. I looked up at her. "Rotters?" I asked. "I didn't know they had a name" I looked at him again. He stirred a little, then finally opened his eyes.
