Who would have thought that summer would pass so quickly? Not Taehyung who was now walking to school. It was 7:30 am on Monday and strangely the older boy woke up alone in the dorm. Jungkook left a note saying he left early to get something done before class.

It was the first day so nothing in particular should have happened during the few lessons that they had. The school also scheduled a ceremony as a way to de-stress the students and Taehyung was looking forward to seeing Jungkook there. In fact, he sent the younger a short text asking him to meet up in the gym, where the event was being held but got no reply.

He really wanted him to meet his friends and maybe extend the friend group, completely forgetting that Jungkook might have friends of his own.

The moment Taehyung entered the school, Seoyeon nearly threw herself at him. She wore the usual mini skirt and crop top, showing as much skin as possible. Her hair was tied in a high ponytail which reminded Taehyung of Ariana Grande. It wouldn't be the first time Seoyeon picked something up from the artist.

What irked Taehyung a bit, however, was that she was oddly cheery. She was always a bit energetic and pushy but in that moment it seemed highly exaggerated. Like she was doing it to cover something up. It reminded Taehyung of a child being extremely polite to the parents after breaking something or wanting something expensive. In this case, it could have been both.

"Long time no see, Tae Tae!" she exclaimed as they started walking to class.

"We saw each other a few days ago," Taehyung reasoned.

"Yeah, but that was a few days too long," the girl whined. "What were you up to anyways?

"I just hung out with my roommate. What were YOU up to though?" he asked since she was the one who claimed to be busy all the time.

"Just hung out with friends but what the hell were you doing with that guy? He's about as responsive as a brain dead mouse," Seoyeon complained.

"He's just fine. Don't be fucking rude," he mocked in a high pitched voice to imply he was joking.

"Whatever."

And with that Seoyeon went to god knows where, leaving Taehyung in the hallway alone. The boy could never quite understand her. When they first met it seemed like he was head over heels for her. She was pretty, relaxed and well... Popular. What was not to like? But as he got to know her, he picked a few things up.

First thing that stood out was how often she changed her mind. One time they went on a date to a cheap pizza place and she didn't seem to mind. When Taehyung suggested the restaurant as the date location a month later, however, she claimed to be lactose intolerant and allergic to a whole bunch of vagetables. They ended up goint to some fancy french restaurant of her choice instead.

At first Taehyung thought she just didn't like the place and wanted something diffetent but her strange behavior didn't stop there. About five weeks after they started dating she invited him to her house, saying she had a bunch of dogs they could play with all day. When Taehyung got there and asked about the pets, Seoyeon's parents accused him of being unfaithful. They claimed he probably had a different girl in mind while Seoyeon just stood there trying to look betrayed and hurt. It was like she planned the whole situation.

Later she said her favorite colour was green so Taehyung got her a cute green hoodie for her birthday. Instead of being thankful, she accused him of never listening to her and being a bad boyfriend since her favorite colour was obviously red and not 'shrek swamp green'.

Now you might be wondering... Why the hell would Taehyung stay with her after all of that? Good question. I don't know either.

Perhaps it was the fear of being single or the fear of being figured out by his family, friends, the neighbour's hamster... Either way he kept telling himself that maybe he really wasn't listening. Maybe he was zoning out during every conversation he had with Seoyeon. Maybe she was just a compulsive liar in need of help. Taehyung didn't want to think about it too much.
