"You're gorgeous, Athena," Carlyle wrapped his arm around me and I laughed.

"Dude you've said it about five times. She KNOWS." Ares told him with a scoff. Since the moment Ares had drunk my sangria, about an hour had passed. Carlyle was definitely hammered and people had gathered at our table at the sight of the celebrity.

"Your sister is fine as hell," Carlyle laughed then kissed my cheek.

At this point of the night, I was positive that I wasn't going to sleep with that man. Not because I wasn't attracted to him; I'd realized that even if he wasn't part of a famous band, with that sexual confidence he exuded, I would still want to get with him. I wasn't going to sleep with him because he was way too drunk to function.

"Yes, yes, we know. Athena is hot, she's a goddess, she's fine, she's gorgeous, her skin is beautiful. You've said it all bro. It's called melanin, try it out, but not with her."

I rolled my eyes. Ares was lucky Carlyle was that drunk, because after an hour of flirting I would have left with him. Whereas I'd stopped drinking when I'd set up my mind, Carlyle had started going overboard; offering people at the bar drinks and drinking shot after shot.

"So are we going, my goddess?" He nuzzled my neck.

"I don't think so, Carlyle. You're drunk out of your mind." I leaned away from him to look at him in the eyes, since the proximity wouldn't allow it. His eyes were a bit bloodshot and hooded. The gleaming brown was now a bit dull.

"Actually, I think we should head to our hotel, Athena," Ares tapped his wrist, "It's getting really, really late. You've had your fun, we need to leave."

"But look at him, we can't leave him in this state," I argued. Leaving a drunk person on their own was not me. No matter what your fame status was I just thought it wasn't right.

For some reason, Carlyle had no bodyguard and no one to look out for him, and I knew from experience that everyone was much too vulnerable when drunk.

"Yes we can. He's not our problem. You should know better, Athena."

I ignored Ares and I turned to Carlyle, "Hey- hey, Carlyle. Where do you live? Where is your hotel?" I grabbed his shoulder and shook him up a bit. My brother grabbed my arm and I shook him off, knowing he was simply trying to stop me from doing what the right thing was in my mind.

It had always been like this between us. Once I had a thing on my mind I was pretty much unstoppable. I was surprised that night that he didn't let things go and let me do as I wanted, because that was our dynamic. Me being fixated on an idea and him staying still during the tidal wave that is my obsessive nature.

"Athena you will regret this," Ares uttered between clenched teeth just as Carlyle said, "The Deleon Hotel."

My heart felt like it stopped right at this moment, but I was not sure what triggered it; Ares, or Carlyle. My breath hitched in my throat.
