Hisoka sighed as she sat at the back of the class with her head on her desk. She wouldn't learn anything in this class. They put her in normal classes but she had already taken most of these classes in middle school out of boredom. She only lifted her head when she heard the teacher yelling.
"Is my class that boring, Sawamura?!"
Hisoka looked over at her brother to see that he was asleep. This made Hisoka frown but she wasn't surprised. This was the exact same thing that Eijun did when they were in middle school but Hisoka had hoped that since he was so determined to be on the team that he would actually try to pay attention in class.
Her brother's head fell back onto his desk with a loud thud.
"Don't just go back to sleep like that!! WAKE UP!!"
Hisoka looked around at all the kids that were laughing. Good job Ei, she thought to glare at him. Way to make us the laughing stock of the class already. Hisoka closed her eyes leaning her head back before her eyes shot open again.
"Sir...He's not a member of the team."
Hisoka's head snapped up, her eyes immediately finding Kanemaru. He was another first-year who she had seen at practice. Hisoka set her hands on her desk glaring at him with narrowed eyes.
Kanemaru didn't notice the second Sawamura glaring at him. "They haven't approved his joining the team, so right now he's just an observer," Kanemaru stated with a harsh tone. "So please don't group him with us."
Hisoka stood up slamming her hands on her desk loudly. The class looked at her, a chill running down everyone's spine.
"Heyyyy Kanemaru, can I ask you something?"
Kanemaru looked behind him, freezing as he saw Hisoka. The first years on the baseball team had seen what Hisoka was made of at practice so they knew not to mess with her.
"Y-yeah, sure," He stuttered. "What's up, man?"
"Do you have any talent?"
The entire class froze. Hisoka had a serious look on her face as she stared at Kanemaru. Not even the teacher said anything or moved. This was a deadlock between the two players.
"Because as far as I have seen, you aren't anything special," Hisoka said sitting leaned back in her chair. "At least my brother has talent, he just needs someone to help him control it."
Eijun stared at his sister who stood up after a second. She started towards the door to the confusion of everyone in the class.
"Where are you going Sawamura?" The teacher asked making Hisoka stop at the door. She looked back at him with annoyance evident in her eyes.
"To go ask to switch classes," She said opening the door. "I am never going to learn anything in this class."
The teacher stared at the door with his mouth wide open as Hisoka disappeared out of it with her stuff.
Hisoka closed the door behind her before heading towards the office. She would have been lost trying to find the office if she hadn't run into the janitor who was nice enough to walk her in the right direction. Hisoka smiled waving to the older man before stepping into the office. The ladies at the front desk looked up at her with a confused look.
"Excuse me, I would like to speak to someone about switching my current classes to higher-level classes," Hisoka told them not even letting them ask what she needed. "I realized that all the classes I have now are the classes I have already taken."
About fifteen minutes later, Hisoka had a new schedule and was being walked to her current class. All of this was only happening because of Hisoka's test scores from previous years. She needed higher-level classes or she would just be stuck in classes teaching subjects that she already had taken classes for. Most of her new classes were second-year classes but her last class on her schedule was a third-year class.
Hisoka stood behind the principal as he opened the door to her new class and called the teacher out. Hisoka introduced herself then bowed to the teacher respectfully. The teacher smiled introducing himself before he led her into the classroom. Hisoka looked around to see if she recognized any of the second years. Sure enough her eyes found both Miyuki and Kuramochi. They both looked at her with confused looks which made her smirk.
"How about you introduce yourself, Sawamura," the teacher whispered in her ear, setting a hand on her shoulder. Hisoka looked at him nodding.
"I'm Sawamura Hisoka, I am a first-year who will be joining your class from now on," she announced bowing. "Please take care of me."
"If anyone has questions for Mr.Sawamura, I can give a few minutes so that I can fill out the rest of the paperwork," the teacher suggested holding the paperwork that he was given by the principal.
Hisoka looked around seeing some hands shoot up. A smile graced her face.
"Okay...you..."
###
Hisoka had walked out to the baseball field with Kuramochi and Miyuki but they had walked off to get dressed in their game uniforms. She knew there was a game today and she wished that she would be able to go but she knew that it would be best if she stayed behind to practice. She had seen Seidou play before. She didn't need to see them play again.
Hisoka walked up in her practice uniform as the first string finished their team cheer. All the first string players came towards where Hisoka stood. She saw their bags behind her so she moved away from them quickly. Miyuki ruffled her hair as he bent down picking up his bag.
"Have fun with practice," He encouraged with a smile. "Try to come to watch the next game though."
Hisoka smirked with her hair hiding her eyes. "I'll be playing in the next game," she stated looking up at him. Miyuki's eyes went wide when he saw the determined look in her eyes. Her determination made him smile even more.
"I bet you will be," Miyuki said, giving her a fist bump. Hisoka ran over to the coach telling him that she was staying and he gave her the keys to the batting cages when she asked if she could use them. Hisoka waved to Kuramochi and Ryosuke before she disappeared around the corner. Her purple baseball shoes were the last thing that they saw. Hisoka made choices quickly but it was obvious that she thought about each choice for a split second before finalizing her decision.
Kuramochi waved back to Hisoka before yelling at her brother.
"Okay so what do I want to practice while I have the time," Hisoka said looking around. She knew that she could practice anything, well almost everything. When she picked up her bat she couldn't help but smile. The redwood was smooth, the multiple shades of red mixing to create the beautiful wood. Hisoka's mentors had gifted her the bat when her brother forced her to join the middle school baseball team. "Maybe I should double up my usual training."
As she started to train she thought of the smile Miyuki had given her before he left. She thought of how accepting Ryosuke and Kuramochi were of her. A smile slipped onto her face.
Wait for me, guys. Because I'm definitely going to climb up to where you are!!
