Thor was absentmindedly fiddling with his fingers as he waited for the meeting to start. He was on edge ever since he saw the woman in the common area. If she was what he thought she was, then Earth will begin to be in some serious trouble. Who they would be dealing with were extraordinarily powerful, and it was a safe bet that the Avengers wouldn't be ready as of today.

Natasha seemed to pick up on Thor's discomfort, and put a hand on his thigh, squeezing it gently. "Are you okay, buddy? You seem out of it."

"Oh I'm fine, Nat," Thor tasted the bitter lie on his tongue as he said it. He was never good at lying unless it was for joking reasons. He also knew it was no good to lie to Natasha of all people, so the fact that the lie was unnecessary all but amplified the bitterness lingering in his mouth. "I just hope that the intruder wasn't who I thought it was." The truth got rid of some of the bitter taste, making him feel better.

"Who do you think it was?" Natasha removed her hand from Thor's thigh and turned around to face him. "If you don't mind me asking."

Thor smiled at Natasha's attempt to comfort him, and shook his head to answer her question. "I don't mind... I doubt I personally know her, but I scarcely remember visiting a planet that was populated by a species whose hair and eye colors matched. And on top of that, their natural hair and eye colors were very... strange. That's all I remember about them. And if my suspicions are right, then that woman is a part of that species."

Natasha hummed as she took in the information that Thor gave her. "And I'm assuming that they're very powerful? Because if not, you wouldn't be as on edge."

Thor bitterly laughed. "Wow, what gave that away? Your spy skills or friend skills??

"Can't it be both?" Natasha smirked.

Tony walked in the door with Clint, clearly in a heated conversation. Knowing them, it was way more hyped up and intense than it should've been. Clint was making desperate attempts to keep the conversation going while Tony looked bored and like he'd slap him at any second.

"What are you talking about? It's a great investment!"

"Indestructible Robot Puppies?"

"Yeah! Not only will the consumers never have to grieve over their dead dogs ever again, but if you put some serious A-Tier criminal in a room full of 'em, then they'll immediately cave in and tell us all their deep and dark secrets. No one can handle that much cuteness!"

"... And you know this how?"

"Budapest." Clint looked over at Natasha who was eavesdropping. "Nat can vouch for me."

"It's true, I was there. I've seen things." Natasha explained with wide eyes to give off a scared vibe, but everyone could tell she was just joking thanks to the small smile she was fighting to hide. "Horrible things."

"Like...?" Thor asked, hoping it would prompt an explanation of some sort.

It didn't. Instead Natasha all but shared a knowing look with Clint, clearly communicating with silly faces and occasional hand gestures. Guess we won't get an explanation.

"Fine, we'll tell you guys." Natasha said despite Clint's silent protests. "It all started when—"

Steve slammed the doors open, interrupting Natasha. Instead of being annoyed, she looked relieved. That's odd, Thor though, it was as if she was expecting Steve to burst in at any moment.

The others seemed to get the same conclusion, as Clint looked like he was stifling a laugh, and Tony looked disappointed, but not surprised.

"Was I interrupting anything?" Steve raised an eyebrow. "Or can we just get started."
