When Peter heard that Thor also had a good reason to go to Mars with him, he was not happy.
His girlfriend died a brutal death three weeks ago, rendering the Guardians out of work for a while, then they go to Earth and meet up with this hot buff god that Peter seemed to be developing feelings for even though his girlfriend died, and then he had to save the world with this buff guy? The world was turning against him in a way that was unusual compared to how the world normally turns against him.
He's not usually one to admit things, but he did have to admit that Thor would be helpful for their mission. Peter wasn't going to jeopardize Earth's destruction for some petty feelings. For some other planet? Maybe, but not Earth, Not for the only place he has memories of his mother.
Now he was tuning out all the conflicts in his head with his handy dandy Zune. He was trying extra hard to listen harder to the music; he had to savor the pleasures of the calm before the storm that is this mission to Mars.
He wasn't to going admit this to anyone, but he was scared. Peter has witnessed firsthand how feral the Unnaturals were, and how brutal they would be to Thor and Peter if they failed. He would rather die than be captive by them, and that's saying something.
His main concern was Thor. He was obviously going to bring a lot of attention to Mars. A good-looking, dumbass, outdated god would attract a lot of attention.
But then again, Peter himself was all of those, so the two might get off the hook if they let Peter slide by when he visited. They must have a lot of dumbass outdated gods visit.
He sighed to himself as Come and Get Your Love ended and Wham Bam began. He promised himself that after five songs, he would go down to the commons to go to the Sanctum—where Dr. Strange resided—with Thor. Wham Bam was the fifth song.
Peter decided to make the most out of it before walking straight into this suicide mission that he believed would end up with his heart being nearly broken into pieces in one way or another.+++++++
Thor was sitting near a car, lots of thoughts running through his brain. The fate of the world, Quill, what Dr. Strange might say, Quill, what to grab for lunch on the way to the Sanctum, and Quill. It was rather hard for him to focus on so many different topics at once.
After the meeting ended with Thor and Quill being paired together they came to the conclusion that they should pay a visit to Dr. Strange, who they both believed would know a thing or two; if the Unnaturals were a threat as they suspected, then the doctor would absolutely have helpful information on them.
"Hey Thor, you ready?"
The aforementioned god saw Quill walk outside, wearing a disguise despite probably not needing one. A jean jacket hung from his person, and he was wearing a black graphic T-shirt that said 'TMNT' on it, dull sneakers, and skinny jeans. The most notable aspect was the round red-tinted sunglasses resting atop his nose. All he needed was a beanie and he could be classified as a hipster.
But Thor didn't mind his odd look. He has seen weirder, after all. Not to mention Quill was rocking those skinny jeans. He bet that if he looked hard enough, he could see how big his thighs were, but Thor didn't even glance despite his lustful curiosity. He's not a pervert.
"Thor?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm ready." Thor scoffed. "Why else would I be standing outside?"
"Because you look like a hobo attempting to hitchhike to some bar to spend all your money on beer?" Quill critiqued.
Thor didn't think he looked too bad. Just overly casual. He was wearing a worn jacket and jeans with the hope that he would be inconspicuous. He would've asked Quill to do the same, but he thought against it, seeing that there's a good chance no one from Earth would even remember let alone recognize him.
