Ronan’s Pov

“And cut for a break” a stagehand called to my relief. Someone hurried over with a bottle of water.

“Uncle Ro-ro,” a singsong voice sounded in my ear and I rolled my eyes.

“What do you want Georgia?” I sighed, turning my chair to face my niece. Fifteen years old, she was the spitting image of her mother; long golden blonde hair, bright blue eyes and a lingering innocence that never seemed to go away.

“I’m bored,” she whined. “I’m not even allowed backstage to talk to all the hotties. Thanks for that by the way.”

“I’m sure your parents would be thanking me,” I shrugged. “I’m sure there’s someone backstage for you to talk to. Someone other than the contestants.”

She huffed in annoyance and stormed off. I knew her well enough to know she wasn’t really angry. She’d been staying with me for over a month and I’d gotten this exact show at least once a day for that whole time.

“Everybody back to positions,” the same voice yelled out. My bottle was whisked away and a moment later all the lights were back on and the music was playing. I wasn’t paying attention as the next act came on stage until Guy coughed. I tore my eyes from the table to focus on the stage.

Standing there, looking a little awkward and shy, were five young guys. Another group, there were definitely a lot of them this year. They all looked to be around the same age, and they were dressed reasonably well.

“Hey guys, how are ya?” I spoke up.

“Good thanks,” the one on the end answered as the others nodded.

“What are you called?”

“We are What About Tonight.” Interesting.

“Tell us about yourself,” I prompted. The same boy went through and did introductions. Luke, Mitchel, Christian, Tyrone and Brock. Hope I can remember them all.

So, turns out, these boys had met on YouTube, all living in different states and places and came together to be like One Direction.

Tell you what, they may not be One Direction, but they could give them a run for their money, those boys had talent. The youngest one was only 14, but all of them had superb voices. Not to mention, they had the perfect boyband look. Hope I get groups this year again, if these boys could be in my category.
