BROCK’s POV
We emerged to the sounds of cheers and screams from the line of teenage girls that stretched back across the shopping centre. We all took position at a roped off table at the very front of the line and sat down to the continued screaming.
The boys and I spread out along the table and the girls grouped around the end. The security had a word with our parents then they let the first people through. Our fans are so awesome. They all filed through, getting photos and signatures. A few of them brought us food and drinks. Everyone always tells us not to accept anything like that, but come on, free food!
“Oh my god, Brock I love you!” Some girl squealed as she made her way down the table. I stood up and hugged her and she burst into tears.
“Broccoli, we’re going to get smoothies,” Tay came up behind me. “Want anything?”
“Nah I’m good thanks,” I answered over my shoulder, signing someone’s arm.
“Luke?”
“Surprise me,” he said from beside me. The girls left to go over to Boost while more and more fans filed past.
“Here you go Pumpkin pie,” Maeve said sweetly as she handed Luke a drink, making a couple of nearby girls look like they were about to faint. “Sorry, couldn’t resist,” she whispered as she walked back past.
“Hey Taylah,” a fan called over to her and she looked up in surprise. “Are you and Mitchel going out?”
“Um… no,” Tay laughed awkwardly and the fan looked disappointed.
“Step up your game Mitch,” she giggled and ran off with her friends. Mitchel just ran a hand through his hair and pretended nothing had happened.
“Hey can we get a picture with you?” I looked up; ready to say yes when I noticed they weren’t asking me, or any of the boys for that matter. Georgia, Taylah and Maeve stood up, looking surprised but please none the less. They posed with this group of girls while they took pictures and accepted pieces of paper, probably with their twitters on them.
“Oh my god it’s the zookeeper,” Tyrone elbowed me and pointed into the line where a familiar face was looking the opposite way. She wasn’t in her zoo uniform, but it was definitely the same girl. The line moved up and soon enough she was right in front of us.
“Well, looks like someone is a bit of a fan after all,” Luke said teasingly and she blushed a little.
“You caught me,” she laughed. “I can’t resist you guys.”
“Emily!” The girls shouted when she’d made her way through all of us, jumping up to hug her. They chatted for a moment and seemed to be swapping numbers before she said goodbye and hurried away. I turned my attention back to the line of girls in front of us and saw a girl talking to Luke.
“Hello gorgeous,” he smiled up at her. “What’s your name?”
“Jess,” she gave him the widest smile. He stood up to take a photo with her and kissed her cheek. “Thanks babe, call me?” She winked and gave him a piece of paper before she strutted down the line through the rest of us.
“She was um… intense,” Tyrone laughed and I nodded.
“I don’t know,” Luke shrugged. “She was kind of hot.” God Luke, such a flirt.
Slowly, bit by bit, the line dwindled down until we were taking photos with the last group of girls and then we were free. Okay that sounds ruder than I meant. I don’t mean free like our fans are a burden, I meant just free to just chill, get me?
“Let’s get dinner,” Maeve suggested, jumping to her feet and rounding the table. “I’m starving. Let’s get Nandos!”
“Yes!” Christian cheered and the two of them skipped off together. The rest of us exchanged looks that said something like ‘why do we let them out in public?’ and followed them to the food court. They’d already pushed together half the tables in the place together when we got there and the two loons were sitting there waiting for us.
We’d sat down and were getting ready to order when a couple of girls and a guy came in. The waitress told them they didn’t have any room to seat them.
“Please!” the girl begged. Hey, she looked familiar. It was the ‘intense’ girl, Jess, from the meet and greet. “We really want to eat here. Can’t you squish us in anywhere?”
“Hey, we’ve got a bit of room, they can sit with u-” Christian broke off with a groan of pain and shot daggers at an innocent looking Maeve. But if she was trying to send a message, it wasn’t received, because they came over to our table and we moved down to give them room.
“We’re short one chair,” I pointed out.
“Here Tay, sit with me and someone can sit here,” Mitch suggested. Tay moved to sit on his lap and one of Jess’ friends took her seat.
“Thanks so much for this,” Jess smiled flirtatiously at Luke, even though he’d done next to nothing in getting them to sit with us. “This is Holly, that’s Liv and that’s Anthony.” Her friends all waved as they were introduced.
“Well I guess you know us,” Luke laughed. “But this is Maeve, Georgia and Taylah.”
“Pleasure,” she looked quickly over the girls before dragging Luke back into a conversation.
I’d ended up sitting next to Olivia, who was um… let’s say chatty. They seemed nice enough though once we’d started talking to them, and we were all getting along really well.
“I need to go to the bathroom,” Maeve stood up abruptly and walked towards the restrooms.
“Same,” Tay and Georgia both said, hurrying to follow her. Jess looked at Maeve’s empty seat with a smirk and flipped her dark hair over her shoulder.
“So anyway, what was I saying?”
