TAYLAH’S POV
“I need to go to the bathroom,” Maeve said quickly, leaving the table. Georgia and I looked to each other and nodded.
“Same,” we both said, following her into the restrooms.
“That stupid little – ugh!” she was standing just inside, her arms crossed as if she was waiting for us. “Did you see how she was throwing herself all over him?”
“We saw babe,” Georgia said calmly. “Now before we can help you to knock her unconscious and ship her body off to Peru, I have to ask something. Please don’t kill me, but is it possible that you’re jealous?”
“What? No, what even?” she scoffed. “Why would I be jealous? It’s not like we’re together, or there’s even anything between us. Why would there be when he goes all goo-goo eyed the first time a girl flirts with him. Nope, I have no feelings for him whatsoever, that’s insane.”
We just stood there, smirking at her while she tried to glare at us. Then she just sighed and leant back against the wall with her hands over her face.
“I hate you guys,” she groaned. “I am crushing so bad and we all know it. Help me!”
“You need to go out there and mark your territory,” Georgia said simply.
“What, you want me to pee on him?” she raised her eyebrows and we all burst into fits of laughter.
“You and Luke have no problem flirting and messing around when we’re at home,” I pointed out. “So just go out there and do that and show her that she can’t have him.”
“Who was sitting next to him?” Georgia asked.
“Tyrone I’m pretty sure,” I thought about it and she pulled out her phone. She got a message and smiled triumphantly.
“Right, the seat next to Luke is now empty,” she said seriously. “Christian is going to distract Slagatron long enough for you to sit down and start talking to Luke, and the rest is up to you.”
“You guys are insane,” Maeve laughed, turning around and fixing her hair in the mirror. “But I love it, let’s do this.”
I pushed the door open and we all filed out, putting on our best smiles as we moved back to the table. Christian did as promised and asked Jess a question. Maeve took the opportunity to fall into the chair next to Luke.
“Lucky me,” he grinned at her. “I ordered you your usual, hope that’s alright.”
“Of course,” she nodded.
I took my position back on Mitchel’s lap, accidently breaking up his conversation with Holly. Whoops.
“Did you order for me?” I asked, twisting to face him so my arms were resting around his neck.
“Sure did babe,” he nodded. I turned back around, catching a glimpse of Holly’s annoyance as I did. Our food arrived and I took the opportunity to survey the situation.
Christian had left the conversation with Jess and was instead laughing whatever Georgia was saying across the table. Jess was left to sit in silence as Luke was still talking to Maeve and they were hitting it off marvelously. As I watched he leaned in close and said something in her ear and she laughed, almost choking on her drink.
“Jess is it?” I called across the table and she looked up with her lips pursed primly. “Yeah, can you pass the salt please?” She handed it across Luke, her cleavage dangerously close to his face. He leant away and was obviously trying not to look. A+ for effort there Lukey.
“I guess everyone’s too full for ice-cream then?” Tyrone spoke up after we’d all finished. We immediately protested and he grinned. “We’ll grab the bill then, shall we?”
“Nice meeting you guys,” Maeve smiled sweetly at Jess and her friends as we stood up to leave.
“Yeah bye,” Jess said with a smug smile. “You’ve got my number if you ever want some good company.” She winked at Luke and smirked at Maeve before flipping her hair and strutting out.
“Luuuuke,” the boys teased him as we were walking towards the ice-cream shop.
“You’re just raking in the girls aren’t you Luke?” Christian laughed. “Watch out Maeve, someone seems keen to steal your man.” Maeve glared at him but Luke just laughed along with him and wrapped his arm around her shoulders.
“Don’t worry babe,” he winked down at her. “She’s not my type anyway.” We all laughed and Maeve rolled her eyes. Georgia and I shared a discreet high-five behind their backs and enjoyed feeling like the best wingmen ever.
We all ordered the biggest cones of ice-cream the shop offered and made our way through the now almost empty centre towards where the car was parked. The drive home was pretty much silent because we were all absolutely stuffed and close to falling asleep on top of each other.
The girls and I went straight upstairs and changed into PJs then curled up in my bed, which was thankfully big enough to fit all three of us. We put on the electric blanket and made sure the boys were all in their rooms before we started talking in whispers.
“Babe that was perfect,” I nudged Maeve and I saw her grin in the semi-darkness. “You two are actually so adorable it’s sickening.”
“Like you can talk,” she shot back. “Mitchel is absolutely smitten with you. Hang on Georgie, we’re getting to you.” Georgia stopped laughing abruptly and Maeve smirked.
“Firstly, it has not been established that I like Mitchel,” I defended lamely. “Secondly, can we discuss how cute Christian and Georgia are please?”
“Shhh,” Georgia rolled over and buried her face in the pillow. “Let’s go back to Maeve and Luke.”
“Come on girls,” Maeve sighed. “I’ve owned up to my feelings, it’s your turn. We’re never going to get anywhere with these boys if we don’t go for it, because God knows they’re not getting the hint yet.”
“But it’s hard,” Georgia whined. Can’t disagree with her there.
“Ah, but it’ll be so worth it,” she said wisely and smiled up at the ceiling.
