BROCK’S POV

“Helloooo!” I called through the house with a yawn. I’d just woken up and it seemed like nobody was home, but it was unlikely they’d even be out of bed at 11 let alone out of the house.

“Up here mate,” Ty’s voice came from upstairs. I went back up to find them all in the TV room where Maeve and Luke had spent the night. Those two were still on the couch with their blankets while the others were all spread around the room holding bowls of cereal. Christian handed me a bowl and the box and I sat down on the floor.

“Why are we in here again?” I asked, pouring out my coco pops.

“Because moving is too hard,” Maeve answered, stretching out her legs across Luke’s lap. “And you’re all my slaves so you do what I say.” There was more than one eye roll at that comment.

The TV was on Nickelodeon, iCarly playing on the screen. Everyone was kind of half watching it while talking, except for Georgia and Christian, who were on their phones. I caught Mitchel’s eye and nodded towards the phone in Christian’s hand. He nodded back and leant back with his arm across the back of the chair. Quick as a flash he grabbed the phone and darted out of the way.

“Morning gorgeous,” he read in a stupid voice, changing it to read Georgia’s reply. “Morning, are we still on for today?” he raised his eyebrow dramatically and threw the phone to me to catch.

“Of course,” I took up the Christian voice. “How about we leave at 12:30? Go get some lunch. Sounds great, though it’ll be hard to live up to… last night!” Every oooohed and I passed it on to Taylah.

“Haha, yeah that’s true,” she continued, having to stand up and skip away to avoid his snatching hands. “But lights might be a nice change at least then I can see your face awwww!” She dropped it into Maeve’s lap who kept Christian away with one hand while she read.

“Light or dark, as long as you kiss me like that again I don’t care!” Maeve squealed. “Winky face! GEORGIA KEATING AND CHRISTIAN ANTHONY YOU LITTLE LOVEBIRDS! Why didn’t you tell us?”

“Because you’re all nosy and annoying,” Georgia glared, bright red.

“We’re happy for you,” Taylah corrected her, jumping down beside her to give her a hug. “So are you guys official or what?”

“We’re just going out today,” Christian mumbled awkwardly. “But maybe soon, I don’t know.” Georgia grinned up at him and he smiled back sheepishly.

“Well go on,” Maeve nudged Georgia towards the door. “Go make yourself less ugly for your lover boy.” She rolled her eyes but got up and left the room anyway.

“Great catch there mate,” Mitchel grinned at Christian. “The second hottest girl we know,” he added, winking at Taylah.

“Nice to know the ranking,” Maeve huffed dramatically, standing up and sweeping out of the room with the doona trailing behind her.

“That one’s all yours Lukey,” Tyrone laughed, clapping him on the shoulder as he left the room.

True to their word, Christian and Georgia were ready to go by 12:30. They came down the stairs together, looking all cleaned up and cute. They stopped talking as they emerged and kind of just stood there.

“Do you want a lift?” I asked, leaning against the kitchen counter.

“Nah, we’re going to walk,” Christian said awkwardly. “Um okay, well bye, we’ll be back later.” He grabbed Georgia’s arm and pulled her down the hallway.

“Use protection,” Maeve called after them and we all tried not to laugh. As soon as we heard the door shut we all ran down the hallway to the front room. Mitchel and Taylah stuck their heads out the door and the rest of us pressed their faces to the glass to watch them walking together.

Christian reached out and took Georgia’s hand and Maeve and Taylah went ‘awww!’ They turned back quickly and we all pulled back like ninjas, bursting into hysterical laughter.

“Our little babies are all grown up,” Mitch said, wiping away a fake tear.

We ended up playing Monopoly at the kitchen table. Coolest kids out. I already had Mayfair under my belt, so I was totally owning everyone else in my opinion. We heard the door open and all looked up for the briefest of glances before looking back down at the game and acting casual.

“Hey, we’re home,” Georgia called down the hall.

“In the kitchen,” Luke called back, biting back a smile. “How was lunch?”

“It was good,” I looked up to see them come in and drop their hands. “I um, I asked her out… and she said yes.”

We all jumped up and hugged them, practically squishing their little blonde selves. The girls dragged Georgia upstairs to get all gossip, whereas we (the more mature party) took Christian in to play video games. Boys will be boys.

“You know what I think is in order?” Mitchel asked, sitting up from the floor. “A celebratory Slender game!” Christian grinned and ran to get his laptop. The boy is obsessed with that game I swear.

“Girls, come down!” Luke called up the stairs and they hurried down. “We’re playing Slender.” They looked half excited half dreading it.

We put the laptop on the floor and gathered around it, with Christian and Mitchel lying in front of it to work the controls. They started it up and went searching for the first note. I was used to the game so it didn’t really freak me out, but once you get into it, you get really into it.

“Dude! The tree is right there!”

“Noooo! The tree is creepy!”

“Don’t omg what was that noise, Tyrone that’s not funny!”

Christian was shitting himself while controlling, Taylah and Georgia were sitting on the couch with their legs crossed over each other holding hands, I was next to Christian urging them on, and Maeve and Luke were next to Mitchel.

“Shit shit shit he’s coming!” Maeve squealed, leaning against Luke’s arm and holding his hand tightly. The screen didn’t even go staticky this time before Slenderman popped up and the girls (and Christian) screamed and threw the laptop across the room.

“I hate this game!”
