I stood there staring at the closed door Damiens presence fading and the only sounds I could hear were the rhythmic beating of my heart.

"Baby?" I turned to see Caleb standing next to me almost that whole time he had stayed quiet, he had let Damien tell me the story and let me absorb it in my own way.

I didn't know what to think, I was some sort of hybrid wolf who could control others. War was coming because of who my descendants were and despite everything Damien and the elders still wanted me to manage their warriors.

"Babe, are you okay?" I stared into those gorgeous eyes that I loved so much and nodded my head.

"I'm some sort of freak." I whispered as I wrapped my arms around my midsection.

"You are not a freak, you're unique. Your strong, brave and beautiful. You are my mate and i wouldn't change that for the world, I will support what ever decision you decide to make." I gave him a small smile but his words did little to settle the uncertainty in my heart.

"Sonny, you have been through more than any person has a right to, you being part of the Warriors means that you can help those who are unable to help themselves. Become the one thing that you have always wanted to be." I turned at his final words and stared at him.

"What? I know you honey, like I know myself. You are at fighter, you are compassionate and you have a strong sense to know when someone needs you. You found me when I needed you most, neither of us knew it at the time but I did." I walked to him and wrapped my arms around his neck pressing both of our bodies as close as possible with clothes on.

"I'll think about it." I murmured but I knew he was right. Ever since he started training me there has been this fire in my chest, this urge to make sure that what happened to me never happens to another wolf again. We pulled away and locked eyes, his half smile and small nod told me what I already knew, my choice.

I walked out of the room and followed Damiens scent, I wasn't surprised when I found him outside with everyone else. I smiled when I felt Calebs hand slip into mine.

I felt everyone's eyes fall on me, straightening my shoulders and holding my chin high, "I'll do it." My voice carried and I watched as all the Warriors bowed slightly towards me.

"You will need to complete the test," my eyes landed on Damien and it raised an eye brow in silent question. "In order for you to lead your team you need to be able to make them submit to you. Before you were practicing now it's for real. No pulling punches, no rules, you win by knock out or submission."

"When do we begin?" I asked my gaze never wavering.

"Tomorrow, there are some things we need to get in order before the fights begin." With that said he walked away.

"Well tomorrow will definitely be interesting, " I glanced to see Jason smiling at me and Trent looking at him worriedly.  I shook my head and walked away from everyone, I needed space, time to clear my head. There was still some issues with control that I had over my wolf, some things that we needed to get figured out.

"Let me know if you need me." I paused and glanced back at Caleb and conjured a small smile before disappearing into the trees.

How is it that in such a short time I was supposed to lead a team of people that I have only known a few weeks? How was I supposed to be some great warrior when only a few months ago I was a pile of useless bones that no one would waste their spit on?

I stopped and leapt into the nearest tree climbing as high as the branches would allow. I sat on a branch and leaned my back against the trunk. I glanced around, from here you could see the sky and the ground, you could see the mountains and other trees in the distance.
