It was the middle of the night. It was winter and the house had gotten extremely cold. The thermostat had broken and they hadn't gotten it fixed yet due to lack of time and energy when at home. Shouto awoke on his side of the bed, freezing, and realizing that he had no blankets. He rubbed his arms with his hands and used his Quirk to warm himself now that he was conscious.
"It's too cold," he grumbled, locating the blankets in the dimly lit room, the only light peering through the curtains from the streetlights outside. He tried to pull it but it wouldn't budge. "Dammit... Momo..." he groaned, knowing full well she had stolen them in her sleep again.
He scooted closer to her, reaching out and setting his hand on her. "Momo.." He shook her gently, trying to wake her up enough he could get some of their blankets free. "Momo. Wake up for a minute.."
She didn't budge. Shouto sighed and laid on his back, still regulating his temperature. He exhaled and saw his breath in front of his face. "Damn.. It's fucking freezing in here," he mumbled, turning his attention back to his girlfriend who was still sound asleep.
"I might have a Fire Quirk, but I can't use it in my sleep," he mumbled at her, rolling her over and exposing the edge of the blankets. "Your turn to be cold for a bit."
Shouto pulled the blankets from her, fully removing them from around and underneath her, leaving her completely blanketless. Shouto wrapped himself up, instantly warming even after ceasing his Quirk. Not too long after he fell back asleep.
Momo awoke suddenly, shivering and sitting up. "What the- why is it so freezing?" she muttered, rubbing her hands on her arms, shivering the entire time.
It was still dark, and only the little amount of light lit their room enough to see once her eyes had adjusted. Looking down to her right she saw Shouto, peacefully sleeping with the pile of blankets tangled around his body. "Shouto..." she grumbled, annoyed that he'd take them all.
Shivering, she observed him in the dark, seeing that he was totally tangled in them and that she'd have to wake him up rather than try to slip them away. "Shouto get up... Wake up-" she grumbled as she pushed him using her shoulder.
Shouto rolled away from her, grumbling in his sleep and not wanting to wake up. Momo pushed him again and he rolled away from her, trying to get out of her reach. Unfortunately for him, he went too far. He rolled over and before he could react he fell off the bed, hitting the freezing cold hard wood floor.
"Shouto! Are you alright?" Momo asked, worried he might have hurt himself.
"Ow... I'm fine," he mumbled, fully awake now and rubbing the back of his head. "I blame you for this," he said, crawling back onto the bed.
"What? This was your fault. You didn't have to roll away," she said, reaching for the blankets that were still wrapped around his waist.
Shouto caught her wrist as she grabbed a hold of the blanket. "What are you doing?" he questioned, arching his brow and leaning closer to her.
"Getting warm..? What else?"
"You don't share these during the winter Momo. You always pull them away when we sleep."
"Well, you don't have to sleep so far away from me," she responded, pulling herself free from his grasp. "Just get back to bed. We have to wake up in a few hours and be at the agency by seven," she yawned, wrapping herself in the blankets.
Shouto rubbed his head again and scooted closer to her. He slid under the blankets and wrapped his arms around her body, pulling her firmly against his chest, then he slid his leg between hers and wrapped them all together. "There. Now we'll both stay warm," he whispered in her ear. "Just don't push me away this time. Last time I tried to cuddle with you like this, you wouldn't let me."
"I was asleep Shouto," Momo tiredly laughed. "You can't blame me for what I do in my sleep."
"I can too. You push me away and steal the blankets," he breathed, with a hint of sadness in his words.
"I don't mean to.. Just do this when I do," she said while holding onto his arms that were wrapped around her. "I like falling asleep and waking up like this," she warmly stated.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I like to be close to my boyfriend?" she hummed, her eyes getting heavier the longer she remained awake.
Shouto simply held her, not answering but allowing her to drift back to sleep. "I love you Momo. Sweet dreams," he whispered, shutting his eyes and kissing the back of her head, falling asleep, warm and comfortable.
A/N: Just some scene I thought of since I'm a huge blanket stealer 😗
