In those stories you read, do you happen to have an imagery of a dark, dringy, rotting place where the one held captive would be in? Well, I'm in something like that, the only difference was that there was much more light here and it didn't spell as much as I thought it would but then again, this is an empty room that looked as if someone worked here and kept this place tidy so I'm guessing that Liam didn't actually own this place.
'You know Charlotte, there is a lot you need to know about your dad, your mom and a lot more about that guy Hunter.' Liam spat out the name with a look full of distaste before turning to me again. The funny thing about this whole thing was that I wasn't tied up but I was bloody and bruised a little since having the fight with my attacker but other than that, I was glad it wasn't like those cliche stories where the girl would get saved in the end. This was my fight so I decide how this all goes.
'Then tell me, just as long as your gun isn't facing me or near me.' That deal was actually quite good because I was planning to put my gun down too and have a civil conversation with this crazy guy before cops bust through this place like an action film. Stay focused, Charlotte!
'Fine, both of us put our guns down then we can talk.' We slowly both went down on the floor to put our guns there then slowly raised back up, like a mirror image but Liam's had a smirk on his and his face held amusemant at our actions. 'Now let's get talking Charlotte, I have a lot of things to do tonight and I want this done quick.'
'Answer my question, first. How did you manage to get out of jail?' One minute he was looking at me with that creepy smirk then next he was howling with laughter, holding his torso as he did so making me wonder if I should actually hurry to get my gun or not.
'Oh Charlotte, I can see why Hunter would want to stay with you.' He pretended to wipe a tear away before continuing. 'I never went to jail. He just gave you a satisfaction that I wouldn't ever come back and you know what? I thought about not ever coming back, not even to kill that bitch that will give birth to a bastard child but there was much more things that I could take revenge on, especially knowing about you past.'
If this guy wasn't planning on telling me anything, then I wouldn't have hesitated in getting my gun to shoot him in the balls for what he said about my future God child and in the process, if he does manage to shoot me I don't think I would care. 'Tell me then, what do you know that I don't?' There was a part of me that believed he was capable of killing my dad but I just wanted to hear him say it.
'A bit of a history lesson, yay.' He said sarcastically making me roll my eyes. 'I prefer it if you don't have the attitude, Charlie. Anywhoo, I need to make this a little quick so let's start with the murder of your innocent father who, believe it or not, was the cause of his own death. See, me and Hunter never knew each other properly but we had practically grown up together as we have been in the same school etc. but when I found out that he was working for your dad, I couldn't believe it.
'Not only because this was Hunter Maxwell we were talking about, the guy that loved to keep to himself as well as be a mommy's boy. Guess that changed when he hit puberty, but moving on, after I got some other dirt on your father, I found out that he was also friends with Hunter's dad back in the day and poor old Hunter didn't know about that.' My breath hitched when he said that and instantly, all those thoughts about Hunter being my father's killer came back to me.
'How did you find that out?' He only laughed to himself before shaking his head and looking down at the floor. When he looked back up at me, he had this sickening smile on his face that made me just want to cower away from him but I didn't because if I could take the nightmares, then I could take this.
'I know people and that's all you need to know, for now. Now if you'll let me continue, I'll be very happy. Before your father had been killed, mercilessly, I had found out that he had borrowed or taken or whatever, some money from Hunter's father and as you can imagine, gangs don't like it when they have found out that their money has been stolen.' That's why my dad wasn't a good man? Because he stole money or whatever, and didn't give it back on time?
