Everyday he had to hide his magic, ever since he was born. His mother called him a miracle, a blessing. But as she tucked him in at night she would whisper in his ear, the story of his fate.

"Don't ever show who you are Merlin." She would tell him. "They will track you down and hunt you, that you are dangerous. But never forget who you are."

"You're a son of the earth, the sea, the sky. Magic is the fabric of this world and you were born of that magic. You are magic itself."

She would also say and kiss his forehead, the same words balinor would tell her of his story. But as Merlin grew older he forgot those words.

He was still afraid to show his magic. Every opportunity he had, he would use it. Until one day, someone caught him.

Will.

His bestfriend. Once he found out, he truly didn't feel alone, he had a friend. And that's all he needed.

When he moved to Camelot, and saw that magic was banished, he knew he would be alright, all he needed was a friend. And that's what he had.

Arthur.

And when the both of the opened the door together, he knew he would be alright, because they had eachother.

It was cold at first. The air hit them both and merlins first thought was to cast a small fire, but he didn't. But what surprised him was that it was cold air. Not water. And when they closed the door behind them, no water leaked out.

They were in a dark space, filled of air and they were no longer soaking wet.

"If I die again Merlin, I swear to g-"

Merlin quickly shushed him and put up a hand as a way of saying stop moving.

Merlin still heard the whispers and the cooing of the water. As they stood in the dark cold room, they got harsher and louder.

They all came together until the noise was so unbearable that he wanted to cover his ears.

But as quickly as they started, quickly as they stopped. And it's like someone flipped a switch, light flooded the air and suddenly they didn't feel cold anymore.

Merlin had to blink his eyes repeatedly to see what was in front of him. It sounded...busy.

It finally dawned on him that it was a town! An actual town. Buildings stood of various types, some like in the other centuries, others futuristic. It's like as the built, they kept the older ones with them.

Several people walked down the sidewalks and in and out of stores, homes layed not too far.

Merlin looked back at Arthur in concern and quickly noticed he was still holding his hand. He dropped it, embarrassed.

Arthur didn't seem to notice and just looked at him with the same concerns.

They both looked back at the town, and saw someone quickly approaching them. Merlin knew right away that it was a druid. He haven't felt someone else's magic in so long, and it just radiated off him. He was wearing a cloak, hooded.

"Emrys." He croaked out. "We've been waiting for you for a very long time." He started to kneel down to bow.

"Oh no, no, no." Merlin quickly helped him back up and stated that it wasn't necessary, sending Arthur another embarrassed look, and felt heat rise on his face. Arthur just crossed his arms and sent a eyebrow up.

"Both of you, your time has come." His voice was alot smoother once he cleared his throat. Like it has been awhile since he's spoken.

He led both him and Arthur through the town, many people stared. And he knew that all of them were druids. He heard their voices in his head. Words of glee but also worried him.

So many voices it was hard to hear them all, but the ones that came out strongest was 'Emrys is here! We are saved!'

Merlin tried to swallow the lump in his throat. If he couldn't save Arthur, how is he going to save a whole town?

As they followed the man, Arthur spoke up first.

"I'm sorry, but what was your name?"

"Cerdan."

Arthur fell quiet. Until something dawned on him. "Wait, that's not possible. Didn't my father execute you? You were also with the young druid boy."

"The words you speak are true. I am, or was, Mordred father."

Arthur continued rattling on. "How is that possible? I saw it with my own eyes, you shouldn't be here."

"Arthur!" Merlin glared at him.

"It's alright, Emrys. All will be shown in good time." He then led them into a building. It seemed like an old antique store. Arthur still seemed amazed of the things the future has done.

Cerdan took them into the back, opening a door merlin didn't even realize was there. It seemed like a bedroom. Book shelves scattered the wall, but also potions. Then they both spotted the bed in the middle of the room and merlin felt a sense of panic.

"It just happened one day, we don't know how or why. But when I saw both of you here, I knew that you were all connected and that all three of you will do great things."

Cerdan continued on as both Arthur and Merlin didn't know what to do. "I don't know how to fix this, but maybe you can. That you can wake her up."

Laying on the bed,

Was Morgana.
