*~~~~*Chuuya's P.O.V.*~~~~*

I grunted, aware of sunlight touching my eyelids. Opening them, I found myself in what seemed to be a hospital room. What... Where am I? I wondered before remembering- I had used corruption.

"Mmmn..." A soft moan made me look down to see Y/n sleeping on the side of the bed, looking very tired. Her arms were her pillow, crossed in a way to make her head more elevated. She had her head turned my way, the sunlight hitting her face and hair in a way that made her seem almost like a fantasy.

I reached out for her, brushing away one of her locks of hair from her face. She sighed softly, readjusting in her sleep. Some emotion made me smile, amused that the h/c haired woman had fallen asleep next to my bedside.

Looking at my arms, I noticed that they were covered in cloth, blocking my sight from what was probably the effects of Y/n's ability. Before I could remove the bandages, tempted to feel what was so dangerous about her, a knock on the door sounded.

"Come in," I called out, finding Boss to enter the room. "Boss."

"Oh, don't mind me. I was simply seeing why Y/n was stopping her treatment- but she had been on her feet ever since waking from her passing-out, so I suppose she should rest." Boss informed, walking up to her. He tutted softly. "Have you been getting along with Y/n?" The personage asked as he moved some long hair from her shoulder.

I huhed before I could think. Boss looked over at me, amused. "Please tell me," He requested. I sighed, readjusting how I sat before thinking about the answer. Lately, we hadn't exactly been fighting, but the occasional tease was let loose every once in a while. It wasn't like we hated each other.

I glanced back at Y/n, who was still undisturbed by the small conversation. She smiled, humming softly, as though having a good dream. She once again reminded me of a river- always changing, adapting to the environment, and yet changing it over time. Now I could not imagine life without her sarcastic comments when she headed over to a wounded person or how she would look at someone when they did something stupid.

"We've gotten on better," I answered the Boss' question, wishing that he would stray from Y/n's side, even if for a moment.

"That's good news. I will let you continue to rest," Boss informed, leaving the room. I nodded, wishing him well. "You did well, Chuuya." After Mori left, my eyes returned to the cloth blocking the view of Y/n's mark.

When I focused on it, it seemed like the thing was alive. It was unnatural, almost pulsing against me. I sighed, tempted to test it once again. But then what if Y/n's warnings were true? What if people who were healed by her actually could die by their own accord if she didn't take the preemptive measures that she needed to?

"Chuuya...?" Y/n suddenly spoke, her voice breathy and laced with sleepiness. I looked over at her to see she'd woken up, frowning worriedly. "Are you okay? You were beaten up bad..." She went on, her e/c eyes glowing in the morning light. For some reason, my gaze went up and down her shape.

She looked fine, just tired. Not just fine. Beautiful. I smiled, watching her stretch to wake up a little faster. She yawned, covering her mouth carefully as she quietly woke herself up. The woman looked over at me expectantly.

"I'm fine, thank you," I responded as she got up, picking up what seemed to be a blood pressure gauge. The woman turned around, hooking the instrument up.

"That's good. If you don't mind, I'd just like to check how you're doing health-wise." Y/n answered, lifting my arm gently. She wrapped the object in her hands around my arm, letting it blow up. "...Can I ask you something?"
