"Good morning, Akutagawa, Gin," You greeted in the doorway to the main living space, where the two people were looking at each other in spite. "Um... what's going on?" The question was put into the open before you realized that they had started glaring at you, groaning.
"L/n," Gin started, her voice significantly sweeter than usual. "Who's the better fighter of the family?"
"It's unmistakably me and my Rashomon," Akutagawa claimed, waving his hand to brush away Gin's glare. "Don't you agree, L/n?" The raven-haired male looked over at you, pale blue eyes observing you dearly. You groaned.
This was what they were fighting about? Who was the better fighter? It was, indeed, Akutagawa, because of his Rashomon, but his weak body had significant weight in the claim. He was not that good at hand-to-hand, and his close-ranged abilities often made it hard for him to maneuver around a person. Compared to Gin, who was excellent in hand-to-hand combat and even looked more masculine than that of her brother. In your opinion, anyway. However, she had no Ability to speak of and she was best in assassinations, not full-blown fights.
In a fight between the two, you would probably bet on her, because she was fast and nimble. And being his sister, she most likely knew his moves and how to defeat him. But the same was true for the brother, and so you didn't want to say who was stronger and who wasn't.
"That's cheating," Gin had talked more today than you'd ever heard her talk your whole time with her. It was odd. "You know I don't have an ability," The woman went on, her voice even higher-pitched now. "And besides, your Rashomon does have some weaknesses. Compared to you, I have no weakness to speak of."
"What a lie!" Akutagawa spat out, bristling in fury. Both were fighting, pretty close to the physical kind, and they were still in their pajamas.
"Look, I'd love to watch you two fight, but you both have strengths and weaknesses that not many people know about. Because of this, you're both likely to win based on the terrain, tactics, and ranges. Gin would be more likely to win in close, hand-to-hand or weapon-to-weapon combat, whereas you, Akutagawa, would be likely to win in far-range combat. Therefore, both of you are strong in your own right and shouldn't be fighting about this. Now, I have to go meet with an executive, whom I am already almost late because of you two, so please excuse me." You snapped, grabbing your purse and heading out.
As you closed the door, you could hear the siblings continue to argue with each other, using your points as proof to their claim. Shaking your head, you called over a taxi, telling him to go head over to the building that you often worked at. Sure, sometimes you would go out into the field, but that was rare, and you didn't like it, anyways.
Besides, you'd been lying when you had said that you were meeting up with Chuuya, who you so often saw these days. It was like Mori was purposefully trying to get you two to hang out, though it seemed that Chuuya did most of it on his own.
Maybe you would talk to Yuiha, who's ability allowed him to study a person. The dubbed 'Him who Sees' ability was often used in intelligence operations, which explained why he was a sniper. Of course, it had its limits- he could only tell what was going on if he could see the person. Hearing them wouldn't do a thing.
The taxi stopped, letting you enter the now-familiar building that you had complex feelings for. Your stomach, empty due to your abrupt leaving of the house, made a low rumbling noise. Thankfully, no one could hear it because no one, well, almost no one was there.
You sighed, watching Chuuya who had inevitably noticed you, stride up, smirking. "Miss everyone that much?" He asked in a taunting, slightly teasing manner. You shook your head in response.
