Fallen deep

"I think I sent the draft to you." I said as I rummage through the papers on the front desk. "Now where the heck is this report!" I let go of the papers as they fall into the desk forming a heap.

She looks at me with all the papers lying in a mess. "I don't think you'll find anything in that mess." She pouts.

"Well, I give up on searching."

It was night. We were inside her office trying to figure out how to please the president with my report. She decided to help me but on the condition that the president, her father, should be kept unaware of it.

On that day when the president called her to help me, he mentioned that it would be the first and last help I would get from anybody.

"That report..." She paused trying to hold back her laugh, "...I may have had it in my laptop."

"What?" I looked at her as thunderstruck.

"Mianhae. I didn't know you were searching for it."

"You know I was." I say crossing my arms. I was searching the report I made with her as I needed for reference, for making the next month's.

She looks at me guilty.

With that, the days passed away. It didn't change anything for her but my feelings started growing stronger.

One day I saw her in the parking lot. After I asked her, I came to know that her car was not working. She was about to call Namjun hyung but I offered to accompany me in the bus.

At last she agreed.

We board the bus and I could tell she was a bit tired.

"You can rest for a while. We'll reach a bit late anyways." I look outside to see heavy traffic on the road.

She slightly hums, too tired to refuse the offer. Soon I see her lost in dreamland, breathing rhythmically. A smile forms on my lips as I close my eyes.

"Jungkook! Wake up!" I feel someone shake me. Opening my eyes slowly, I see her face. I back away from her shoulder embarrassed.

Back then, I didn't get to see her blushing as I was too consumed with my thoughts.

"Is it your stop?" I ask.

"I think so." It was evident that she just woke up.

She stands abruptly and stumbs backward before landing on my lap.

"I-I sorry!" She says after standing up again.

"I-It's fine. Don't bother." I say shaking away the fact that it tempted me, for a spilt second, to pull her close to me and never let go.

We head out of the bus and walk down the street near the park, dim street lamps lighting up the alley.

It was quiet.

"I'll walk you." I offer.

"It's fine Jungkook. My house is just two blocks away."

I nod as she smiles and turns to leave.
No, please don't go.

"Wait!" I hold my hand. "I-I wanted to say... something."

"What is it?" She retraces her steps and stands in front of me, clearly trying to figure out the matter.

"I-"

I look at her. It has to be today. Before I regret it, I decide to confess.

"I love you."
