Martha's POV

There's a knock at the door.

Mickey looks over at me and raises an eyebrow, the expression on his face mirrors the confusion I'm feeling.

"Are we expecting anyone?" he asks, frowning as I shrug.

"I don't think so. Maybe I should check." I suggest, standing, heading towards the door.

"Martha," Mickey grabs my wrist as I  turn to leave, making me look around at him. "Be careful."

"Aliens don't knock, Mickey," I point out, chuckling, before walking to the door and opening it cautiously.

And standing there on the doorstep is Ruby Lucas. She's my best friend - but I haven't seen her in months, because she lives in America.

"Hey," she says with a wide smile, hugging me tightly.

"Oh my God, Ruby!" I exclaim, hugging her back. "I haven't seen you in so long. You should've told me you were coming."

"Well, then it wouldn't have been a surprise, would it?"

She pulls away and walks inside, leaving me laughing lightly as I close the door. I follow her back into the living room, and watch as she greets Mickey before taking a seat.

"Ruby... We weren't expecting you." Mickey states as I sot beside him.

"I thought I'd surprise you," Ruby explains, throwing her arms out. "How've you both been?"

"Oh... we've been... we've been great," I say, "and what about you? How've you been?"

"Oh... I've been great. How's the alien hunting? Any trouble lately?"

"It's actually been pretty quiet."

"It's like the family business." Mickey jokes, as he always does.

"You guys are like the Winchesters!" Ruby exclaims, seeming slightly overexcited. "But instead of hunting demons, you're hunting aliens. And... y'know, you're a married couple and not a pair of brothers."

I'm about to say something, but there's another knock at the door.

"I'll get it." Mickey stands and heads out of the room.

"Be careful." I call after him as a joke.

"Aliens don't knock the door, Martha."

"Werewolves do."

"Hey!" Ruby says in mock offense, laughing and shaking her head afterward.

I freeze up when I hear sobbing coming from the direction of the door as someone tries to speak.

"Martha?" Ruby tips her head to one side curiously, with a small frown. "You okay?"

"I think that's my sister. I'm sorry, I have to check."

I make my way quickly to the door, and run into Mickey halfway there.

"It's Christina," he says, obviously out of breath. "She's really upset about something. She won't say what."

"Okay... thanks." I push past him and get to the door, where I see my sister sitting on a chair nearby, shaking and sobbing into her hands. "Hey..." I say softly, walking up to her and kneeling in front of her, putting a hand on her arm. "Christina, has something happened?"

She nods and tries to speak, but is crying too much. "Breathe," I tell her, pulling her into a tight hug to try and comfort her. "Just tell me what happened."

"It... it's Will," she chokes out after a while, obviously struggling to day his name. I get an instant feeling of dread, knowing that something terrible must have happened if she's acting like this. "He... he's dead."

I gasp and bring a hand to my mouth, rubbing her arm gently.

"Oh my God... I'm so sorry. What... what happened?"

"I don't know. I got home and..." she shakes her head and starts sobbing again.

"Shh, it's okay... come with me. I'm going to get you some water, and then we can talk about this, okay?"

Christina nods, and I give her a small smile before standing, and helping her up. I take her through to the living room and gesture for her to sit down before I go to the kitchen to get her some water. Ruby follows me through and hands me a glass.

"What happened?" she asks in a hushed tone, looking over her shoulder quickly as if to check that no one could hear us.

"Her boyfriend died," I explain in a shaky voice, watching her eyes widen. "You remember Will, right?"

"Yeah, of course I do... he died? How?"

"I don't know," I sigh and fill the glass with water. "I don't think Christina does either."

"That must be terrible... not knowing."

I nod in agreement and go back into the living room, giving Christina the water before sitting beside her. She tries to smile gratefully, but the smile falls as she sighs.

"When did this happen?"

"A few hours ago, I think..." she reaches up to wipe the tears from her cheeks, but more fall afterwards. " I... I went out for an hour. And... when I came home... he... he was just lying there..."

Another fit of sobs overtake her, and I put an arm around her and stay silent for a while.

And then there's another knock on the door. The third time today.

"I'll go again," Mickey sighs, walking out of the room. "I mean... what could go wrong?"

I shake my head and supress a smile. He returns after a few minutes.

"Martha," he starts, "remind me never to answer the door again."

Someone else follows him in. The last person I expect to see.

Rose Tyler.

"Rose!" I gasp, looking at her in confusion. "What... how are you here?"

"It's complicated," Rose says, shaking her head. "Really, really complicated."

I look over at Ruby, raising an eyebrow, and she takes the hint and helps Christina up,

"Come on, sweetie. I'll take you upstairs, yeah? You should probably get some rest," she says gently, and then they both leave.

"So... what's going on?" Mickey asks, sitting beside me as Rose takes a seat nearby. "I thought you couldn't come back again."

"It's happening again," Rose starts, "with time. It's all falling apart. Like it was before. Has something happened to you lately? Something... bad?"

"You could say that," I say with a slight frown.

"I thought so."

"So... what is it that's happening?"

"That's the thing. I honestly don't know. We need the Doctor."

"I'll call him," I say simply, standing and walking towards the phone, dialing the number of the phone I left for him.

I hope he answers.

A/N; So... yeah. This made me cry whoops. But on a lighter note... Supernatural reference and Rose!
