Mickey's POV

There's a stranger in my living room.

Clara, I think her name is.

"Doctor... you remember that time before you regenerated, when you were travelling with Donna?" Rose starts. Rose, my ex, in the same room as my current wife, who's brother-in-law has just died. Wow. "And when everything started going wrong, and it meant I could pass through into this world? Basically. the same thing's happened again. But it's kind of different."

"So... what, it's Daleks again?" Ruby pipes up, drawing the eyes of everyone in the room. "That's what it was last time, right?"

"How did you know that?" The Doctor asks, looking from Ruby to Martha with narrowed eyes. "You two talk too much."

"We know."

"Hang on a second," Clara holds up her hands to silence everyone else in the room, and then she turns to the Doctor and frowns. "So when this happened before... it was Daleks?"

"Yes, but that doesn't mean that it is this time. The Daleks are smart. They wouldn't try to pull the same thing twice." The Doctor says, and he starts pacing the room. I watch, frowning slightly. "It's something else. It's something obvious."

Knock knock.

Again?

Martha looks over at me and raises an eyebrow, a playful smile on her lips. I shake my head and narrow my eyes, surpressing a laugh, and she rolls her eyes and stands, rubbing her sister's back comfortingly before walking out.

"So... what is it?" Clara asks.

"I don't know, Clara."

Martha arrives back, followed swiftly by a woman who I recognise as Donna. She stands directly in front of the Doctor with a smile.

"Hello Spaceman," she greets him.

"Hello, Donna," he mutters as though nothing has happened, and then he continues pacing. "I feel like I'm missing something. Something obvious. Something... right in front of me."

"Really."

"Do you ever get that feeling, Donna? Wait - Donna?"

"Yep. That's right. Well, don't I get a hug?" she asks, and then they hug.

"But... you're not meant to remember me."

"See what I mean?" Rose gestures towards Donna and shrugs. "Time's not right."

"Again?" Donna asks.

"Yeah. Again. It's like things that should have happened haven't, and things that shouldn't have happened have."

"Any examples?" The Doctor sits down again and crosses his arms.

"Well, Donna remembers you."

"And a... um... family member died recently." Martha says cautiously. Christina winces and hunches over, and her shoulders shake again. That poor girl.

"Like that time with that beetle thing!" Donna exclaims suddenly. "Y'know Doctor, the thing that happened just before Rose came back the last time? Remember that?"

"Yes, Donna-"

He's cut off by another knock at the door,
