Clara's POV
The phone's ringing. Huh.
"Doctor! Your phone's ringing!" I call out, and yet he ignores me. Someone's in a good mood.
I roll my eyes and pick up the phone myself, answering it. "Hello?"
"Oh... hello. Sorry - who is this?" the woman on the other end of the line asks.
"Clara Oswald. I... uh... travel with the Doctor. I'm guessing that's who you want to reach. May I ask who you are? I'm sure he'll call back. Or! I could take a message. Which would you prefer? Sorry," I cut myself off, shaking my head. "I'm kind of new to this,"
"It's fine," the other woman laughs. "And if you could take a message, that'd be great. This is kind of an emergancy."
"Okay. Message," I rummage in my bag and pull out a notepad and a pen. "Go."
"Well - this is Martha, by the way. You might want to make a note of that."
"Martha?" I frown as I search my memory quickly. The Doctor's mentioned a Martha, I'm sure. "Martha... Jones?"
"Yeah."
"Oh! I've heard a lot about you. Anyway - what's the message?"
"Right, the message... tell him that something's gone wrong with time. Again. And we need him here as soon as possible. Also... tell him that Rose is back."
"Okay..." I scribble down what she said, repeating it to myself as I do. "Martha Jones... something wrong with time... needed ASAP... Rose back. Okay. I'll find him now and tell him."
"Thanks, Clara."
The line goes dead.
"Doctor!" I call out again, starting to search around the TARDIS. "Doctor, where are you?"
"I'm over here!" I hear his voice, but I can't see where he is. I start looking around on the spot, frowning again.
"Over where?"
"Here! Clara, you're looking the wrong way."
"Stop playing games, Doctor! I have an message for you."
"From who?"
"Martha."
"Martha?" I hear a thud behind me, and when I turn around, the Doctor's stood there, a shocked look on his face. "Martha Jones?"
"No," I say sarcastically, crossing my arms and glaring at him. "Martha Stewart."
"Seriously?"
"No! Of course it was Martha Jones."
"... what's the message?"
I pull out the note I wrote and skim over it in order to remember.
"She says that time's gone wrong," the Doctor's face falls as I speak, and I carry on cautiously. "Um... they need you there as soon as possible. And also... Rose is back."
He falls silent for a while, his mouth gaping open slightly.
"... Rose?" I nod, and he suddenly breaks out of his trance and runs to the TARDIS console, pulling levers and pressing buttons all over the place. "Clara! Pull that lever."
I do as he says, and the TARDIS jerks suddenly. I always used to fall whenever this happened, but now I'm used to holding on.
We stop after a while, and the Doctor walks up tp the doors and opens them. I follow and peer out onto a nice looking street, with a row of houses on either side. He steps out and walks up to one house in particular, and I rush after him, assuming that this is Martha's house. He knocks on the door, and from inside I hear a male voice.
"I'm not answering that. Things never end well when I answer it."
And then another voice, female, one I recognise as Martha's.
"Alright, alright, I'll get it,"
The Doctor's face lights up as he hears the voices, and I realise that these must be people he hasn't spoken with in a while. I smile fondly and look back at the door.
It opens, and a woman stands there - she must be Martha - and smiles brightly as she sees the Doctor.
"Doctor... you've changed..."
"Regenerated, yes." he smiles. "You haven't changed at all, Martha Jones."
They hug, and I can't help but smile at them. Martha pulls away and looks over at me.
"You must be Clara," she guesses, holding her hand out towards me.
"And you must be Martha," I reply, shaking her hand.
She leads us through into another room, where a man and another woman sits. At a guess, the other woman is Rose.
"Doctor..." she says shakily, "you... you regenerated again."
"It's still me, though."
She nods, and then runs up to him and throws her arms around him.
"What's all the noise about?" this voice is new - female, American. The Doctor seems to recognise this voice too.
Two girls emerge from the doorway. One frowning slightly as she looks at the Doctor and I, more in a confused way than a hostile way. The other looks an awful lot like Martha, and seems to be crying.
"It's the Doctor," Martha explains, walking up and putting a hand on the crying girl's shoulder.
"Oh," the American nods, and then she looks over to me. "Hi. I'm Ruby."
"Clara." I introduce myself.
"This is my sister, Christina." Martha says, introducing the other girl. "You remember I told you about the Doctor?" she says gently to the other girl, who then nods.
"Right," the Doctor says, sitting down and looking at the people in the room. "Is anyone going to explain to me what's going on?"
