Chapter One: The Riots Of New York, Queens

Starting off pretty mysteriously... hope this you like it!

3rd Person POV

   "Good morning everyone, this is New Channel 19, and we're here live at possibly the biggest riot in New York ever." The blonde perky News Lady, Mrs. Annabelle Jones said. She was sitting on a rather stiff chair, with her bright red lips pursed as she clutched her papers.

   "This is obviously because of the fight 3 days ago between renowned hero IronMan and Queen's local hero, Spider-Man. The fight resulted in thousands dead by collapsing buildings, and many were injured in Queens and New York alike. Neither Spider-Man nor IronMan or Tony Stark have been seen and have been declared missing and criminals for murder and unnecessary damage. This riot is to, and I quote, "Drive them out of town." The issue is, Avengers Tower is seemingly empty, no IronMan in sight. None of the Avengers have made any comments, but they are helping with repairing the damage done by both criminals. If you see either of them, please report it to your nearest police station; or dial the Avengers Hotline number, which is on the screen now." Jones said, the number flashing on the screen before her.

   "And now, for the weather." Jones said, seeming desperate to change the subject.

   "Good morning Midtown." Cindy said, looking crestfallen. "Still no news on the disappearance of Peter Parker, our classmate. As you all know, Peter disappeared 5 days ago, and no trace of him has been found. We are starting the new hashtag, #FindPeterParker on Instagram and Twitter in hopes of spreading awareness-"

   "Like that bs is gonna help." MJ said, glaring at the TV screen at lunch. She felt a snarl curl on her lips.

   The only things anyone at school was talking about anymore where three things: Peter's disappearance, the riots all over New York, and the fight 3 days ago between the once loved hero's, IronMan and Spider-Man.

   It pissed MJ off. They don't care about Peter! They never did, and they sure as hell don't now. It's just a ploy to make people feel better about themselves, and everyone was eating that shit up. Even Flash, who now claims he secretly wanted to be Peters friend or something. Again, a pathetic poly to get attention.

   Ned has been silent for the days that Peters been gone. He was lost. And now seeing the News, he can't help but worry. He's up all night, worrying. He goes through the day, worried. Peter was—is his best friend. He can't be doing all this. It's not like him.

   Both friends played with the inedible lunch food, MJ glaring as she stabs a bit of something that resembles broccoli, while Ned stares down at his plate, his eyes somewhere else rather then the strange steak sitting before him with a little hair on it.

   The lunch room bustled with other teens, but the two of them never felt so alone.

   "They endangered my family!"

   "They killed my baby sister!"

   "Death to Spider-Man and IronMan! Let them feel what we felt!"

   The riot stormed on, people of all races, genders, religious upbringings, and more all were yelling the same phrase: "Murders, Death To Spider-Man And IronMan!"

   The leader of the crowd stood on a podium in front of Avengers Tower, yelling his speech. "THEY KILLED THE ONES WE LOVED! AND FOR WHAT, I ASK, WHAT?! THOUSANDS DEAD AT THE HANDS OF TWO PEOPLE WE ONCE THOUGHT OF AS HEROS! THOUSANDS MORE INJURED! FOR WHAT?!"

   The crowd fluctuated with yells, and New York exploded with rage.

   Two hero's lied in a room, unaware of what had happened outside.

   Unaware that even if they did escape, they'd be torn apart by the angered people in New York.

   Unaware of their future.

   He smiled, a grin tight and forced. His eyes gazed over them both.

   What fun puppets these two would make!
