Chapter 6
My mind was still comprehending the idea of getting married when I had so many lustful wishes in my heart. To me married was something like trap. I mean how can you live with same person all your life. And special thanks to my moody heart, it jut gets tried of people easily. My anger was flushing up but soon my ear caught voice of my dearest father.
"Hey Honey! What is offending my lil sweetie? Is it your mother again?", he asked in a coaxing tone.
My father was the one and only person on this earth I loved the most. There was no one who could ever take his place and what's more, I was his favorite. Seeing him was always a pleasure to my eyes and I would jump out my skin just to greet him.
"Daddy! You came!" I exclaimed with joy. "Look what mother is talking about. She wants me to marry someone. I don't wanna marry. Please daddy."
He chuckled softly and kissed my forehead. Then he greeted my mother and took to his usual form.
"Hi Rose dear. What's the matter now. She is only a child. We'll think about her marriage later."
"David, you always take side of your daughter. Look, you've spoiled her out of your love." She said looking at my frowning face. "She is old enough and I am not talking of marriage. Just that she should choose her life partner and be with him. Enjoy life as we used to do remember?"
My dad let out a peaceful sigh," Those days are gone Rosy, Let our children decide what they want to do with their lives."
I was just sitting there, hearing all their conversation and agreeing dad with every single of his remarks.
"But David dear..". Just then my father cut her out, "Rose we shall speak about it some other time. Don't worry, everything will be fine."
I was relaxed. I gave a departuring look to them and went back to my room. My mind was still full of my mom's words. At the least, it wasn't as bad as I reacted on that. I thought about all the boys that I used to hang out with. There was this boy named Henry. He was my cousin. He was cute and had soulful eyes and a handsome face. And then there was my childhood friend, Peter John. But I always called him John. He was undeniably attractive and he was the only person I trusted and told everything without being judged. Rest of the girls and boys were just fair weather friends. They just came and go.
I was occupied by my thoughts when a msg blinged up on my phone.
It read'Hey Bells come and meet me at my place. We got birthday plans to make for Henry.John'Oh my God! I completely forgot that. I rushed out my bedroom with one quick look at the mirror and stepping down the stair case telling my mom where I was going and went out. John house was on the walking distance. As I continued my path, I smiled at the thought that John always remembered what I forgot. He was always so caring and we had a bond that no one could understand. He was there for me when I needed help and believed in my crazy ideas. He always said that I am too different for others to understand.
I reached at his house, banged his door but it was already opened. I went inside and saw him jumped at me."Hey Cassie! Are you nuts?.How can you forget to plan. Its already Friday and Henry's birthday is tomorrow!"
"I know, i know. Don't make a big deal out of it. We'll figure it out. I am thinking of inviting only close circle. His dad is still out searching for his little brother and his mom won't allow his to stay late. So we'll do things precise. By the way, speaking of moms, where is yours?""Oh yes, she is in her bedroom, sleeping. She is not feeling well. Just back pains, you know."
"Oh, I hope she will be fine. Okay then, lets start."
