Chapter 14
She let out a deep sigh.
"Yes, I really have changed a lot. I am not the same Cassie who used to take everything in fun. I now see the life , John. And its difficult. It really is hard and cruel."
"But its beautiful too, Cassie. Its beautiful when you get what you desire. Its beautiful when you see someone smiling and knowing that you are the only reason behind it. Its beautiful to see people you love, loving you back. Its beautiful to have emotions. Isn't it?" I told her.
"Yes, it is. But I am not certain about anything in life. You know, most of the time things don't go the way we plan them, it disappoints me. And about emotions, I really don't know how to think of them."
"Well, you don't need to think of them. You need to feel them.If your emotions are a house, your foundation is love. You were born with perfect love in your soul and it will keep you strong. If you feel your house is out of order in any way, fix the foundations and the rest will correct itself." I assured her not knowing myself what exactly I was assuring her of, but it was a good conversation to keep going. It was just so nice, even to talk to her about little things.
Cassie's P.O.V
We reached the Park. It was always too much crowed with families. But it was very beautiful. used to love playing on the swings with John. There was many great memories associated with this place. John brought tickets and we played some games. It was so much fun to have a day of childhood back, even if it was for one day only. We played, and laughed like small children who are in oblivious of this world, sunk into our own happiness. It was always a warm feeling with him.
The time flew. Almost three hours had passed, and now we both were tired and starving. John took me to a café. I noticed many changes were made in that part of the park. It was more developed now, and so even more crowded. But John took me to a table that had really quiet surroundings. It was loving and warm. We sat on the table and ordered. Meanwhile, it seemed that only we two were alone in there.
I was looking here and there, while waiting for the food when I saw a small dance stage made for couples. Slow songs were being played. I really liked the café. My eyes fell on John again. He was staring me. He won't take his eyes off me, and my heart started beating faster again. I tumbled my gaze down to avoid the tinkling sensation that was blooming in my heart. I could feel with body temperature rising, though the evening was cool. I bet he noticed it too.
He was continuously looking at me, without blinking. Every now and then, I would lift up my gaze to meet his, checking if he was still looking at me. The surrounding started getting electric and intense. Thank God, soon the waiter came and served us the food.
It was real delicious. I started devouring it hungrily. I heard him laughing at me, still being so childish for food loving.
"Hey, don't laugh. I can't help it. Its so delicious." I blurted out to him.
I ate to my tummy full. Satisfied. While he stayed at the table to pay, I gained looked at the couples dancing.
"Do you want to dance?" he asked, pointing his gaze in the same direction I was looking.
"No, no I was just seeing it."
"Come, lets dance." He left the money on the table and grabbed me, forcing to head on the stage.
"John you know I don't know dancing. You will embarrass me in front of all others."
"Okay, then lets dance somewhere there is on one to look at us. You won't be embarrassed."
He took my hand and led me into a ground under the open sky. The trees and bushes there, were decorated with string and LED lights. Lanterns were hung from the tree branches. It all looked breath taking. He took me to a spot in between two trees leaning just above our heads and led out his hand to me.
"Shall we?" I couldn't resist but to accept. I placed my hand in his warm hands and the other on his shoulder. He placed his other on my side and drew me closer to him. I was just following his moves of light elegant dance, and taking caution not to step on his foot. I could feel his gaze fixed on me as he was wanted to eat me with his eyes. He drew me more closer to him until I could feel his breaths on my cheeks. He said,
"Look up Bells. Look in my eyes."
My breaths were coming faster and faster as my heart was pounding off so rapidly. His touch was so intense, setting my body on fire. I looked up to his eyes, unafraid if I would fall for them. I could also feel his heart beat rising. He whispered to my ears,
"Bells, show me those open and loving eyes, they are the door to my soul."
His word fell me in his trap. His trap of love. I was mesmerized by his word and his beauty was an excuse to love him more. It just happened all of a sudden, even without me realizing it.
We both were lost in each other eyes, arms in arms, saying the unspoken words of a new emotion we both felt and fell for together. It felt like we lost ourselves in a moment with another - a moment made sacred for just the two of us. It was bond from his heart to my heart and my soul to his. We were both deeply engrossed in ourselves, away from this world.
He suddenly withdrew his hands , and sat down. I watched him taking a small red velvet box from his coat pocket and opened it to me.
"Will you marry me, Bells?"
I jumped with my joys trying into soulful tears. I couldn't believe what my ears had heard. My hands were on my face, covering my outburst of feelings. But he stood up and hugged me. I mumbled in his arms;
"I love you, John. I love you so much." I cried out, opening my heart to him.
"I love you too Bells. More than you can imagine. Its been you, its always been you what attracted my heart. I love you." He said, with tears falling his eyes and a soft smile on his lips.
He kissed my forehead and the world fell away. It was slow and soft, comforting in ways that words would never be. His hand rested below my ear, his thumb caressing my cheek as our breaths mingled. He ran his fingers down my hair, pulling me closer until there was no space left and I could feel the beating of his heart against mine. It was the best night of my life.
