"I'm sorry!" Naruto leaned against the back of the couch. Bent over he was pulling on Sasuke's sleeve, trying to get him to move away from his laptop. "How was I supposed to now she was in the car?"

"How many guys have you tried to set her up with?" Naruto relaxed against the couch, settling his elbows on his knees and trying to think. "Naruto!" Sasuke punched his arm, but he held up his hand.

"Four, including you. Most of the time I just tired to set you two up repeatedly because I knew you would great for each other."

"Who were the others?"

"Gaara, Rock Lee-"

"The gymnast?"

"He's planning on shifting to weightlifting soon....and her ex Idate."

"I heard you punched him."

"Asshole was cheating on her, so of course I had to do something." Sasuke stood up, walking over to his fridge.

"I would have done worse." He mumbled, pulling out a beer. He grabbed one for Naruto handing it to him.

"You're not on call tonight?"

"And I have the night shit tomorrow." Sasuke sunk into the couch, tilting his head against the back, the alcohol tasting refreshing from the long day. "I don't know why I even ever listen to you about love." He spoke more to himself then to Naruto. Naruto smiled, taking a big sip of beer.

"Because you suck at it. Worse then me." The blonde pulled out his phone texting Shikamaru to come over. A plan to finally get those two together forming in his mind.

Sakura pushed the rice around her bowl some more. It was her late dinner before her next operation in a few hours. Her phone laid next to her at the table. She wondered if Sasuke was enjoying his day off, while she was still stuck in the hospital for another four days straight. She even had to pull two night shifts in a row. Sakura jumped when she heard her phone begin to ring. Naruto's name flashed on the screen and she wondered what that idiot could need this late at night.

"Hello?" She asked, her tone not hiding her annoyance. She could barely hear anything, just a bunch of laughter and some mumbling. "Naruto?" She questioned. About to hang up, she paused when she heard Saske say her name. He was obviously drunk, his words slurring, but he was better at drunk talking then Naruto was.

"Her pink hair is just...is just...I like it. And I like her both in surgery and out. In she just....she owns that room. Nothing is sexier than a woman with a scalpel you know...and when shes out, shes not like the others who think their gods, or egotistical. She actually cares about her patients and the results. It's just...it's just so different from what I'm used to...I like that about her. Did I mention her hair?" Naruto's laugh echoed through the phone. "You know I almost punched a co-worker the other day. My temper is not as great as everyone thinks. I'm just better at internationalizing, unlike some people." He slurred out. She heard some rustling, a light groan from a drunk Naruto.

"What happened?" Shikamaru's voice came through.

"He started to flirt with her. Sakura, my Sakura, in front of me. Asked her for her number and if she was dating. In FRONT of me!"

"But she's technically not your's." Shikamaru pointed out the obvious.

"So? That's not my fault. Maybe it is...God, all I wanted to do was kiss her right then, and make him go away. Make them all go away." Sakura pulled the phone away from her ear, a blush rising on her cheeks. Ending the call, she slammed her head against the table, wondering what Naruto was thinking. Sakura saw her pink hair over her eyes, her cheeks growing more red.

Sakura stared at Sasuke's door the next morning. She took in a deep breath, holding the bag of donuts and the carrier with two coffee's from his favorite hangover place in her he one hand. Pounding on the door, she knew the best thing was to pretend that what she heard on the phone call, she couldn't make out. Sakura pounded the door again, hearing the a scuffle of feet. Sasuke, opened the door, his plaid pajama bottoms hanging off his hips, his eyes half closed. Sakura was sure his hair was sticking up several new places, the usual, clean cut-cool guy was no where to be seen. Yet to her, he still looked as good as when he was in surgery. He was about to speak, but she grabbed a coffee wavering it under his noise. His eyes lite up, a smile growing on his face, once he recognized the logo. He quickly downed half of it, ignoring the heat that burned his throat. Moving past him, she walked over to the couch looking at a open mouthed drooling Naruto. She glanced around, but couldn't find the second culprit of the night. Her guess, was he ducked out to catch up with Temari.

"How did you know I was in need of my hangover food?" He asked, reaching to grab the donuts from her. Sakura let out a deep sigh, staring at the blonde on the couch.

"Someone thought it was funny to drunk call me last night." She watched him pause, before slowly taking a bite of a donut. She knew he was trying to figure out if Naruto called during his drunken rant or not. Handing him the other coffee, Sakura walked over to the sleeping Naruto, hitting him with a pillow.

"Yeah!" She yelled, causing him to sit up straight. He looked at her wide-eyed, his hand over his heart. "Kakashi called me asking where his ass was." Naruto looked around, then glancing at his phone. There were several miss calls from Hinata and Kakashi.

"Ah! I'm late!" Running over, he grabbed the extra coffee from Sasuke and the rest of the bag of donuts. "Thanks again for letting me crash!" he bolted to the door, but stopped before turning around. Sakura held his wallet in her hand out to him, only to have him give a shy smile. "Uh...Sakura...you know-"

"Your late. I'll deal with you later." She ushered him away. Sasuke downed the rest of the coffee, upset that he didn't keep the one from Naruto. Sakura grabbed the empty from him, pushing him towards his bedroom.

"Sakura-hey!"

"Clothes, Shower, we have work in a couple of hours." Sasuke rolled his eyes at her, turning to face her.

"Yeah in a couple-" Taking the half of the donut he didn't finish, she pushed him into his bedroom, shutting the door.

"Clothes and shower!" She called, eating the rest of the treat.

Sakura unbuckled her seatbelt, reaching for the passenger door, when Sasuke stopped her. The drive had been quiet heading over. She knew exactly what he wanted to ask, but knew she should play dumb.

"Did you hear anything last night? Over the phone...I mean when Naruto called." Sakura faked a smile, shaking her head.

"Nothing important." She knew it wasn't important. Just because he said somethings drunk, doesn't mean he would mean them sober. She knew a lot of men who lied until they no longer had liquor in their system. Idate did it all the time. Getting out of the car, she grabbed her overnight bag, making her way to the elevator. Sasuke couldn't shake the feeling she was lying. He knew if Naruto was going to call her, he would make sure it was during his rant. What better way to get his friends together, then get one drunk to confess.

"Was it about you?" He probed more.

"Like I said, nothing important." Sakura wanted to drop the topic. Her heart began to ache. She wanted to hear those things from him. The surgeon also knew that she wasn't good enough to hear that from him.

"Was it something bad? Did it upset you?"

"What part of nothing important do you not understand?" She finally snapped, her smile gone. Sasuke didn't think what he said would upset her. "Let's just drop it okay?" She reached for a hair tie on her wrist but couldn't find any. Sasuke pulled one out of his bag, holding it out to her.

"You always forget." He mumbled, pressing the floor button he needed to get to.
