A Few Years Later
Sakura stood outside of the doors to the venue. Her hands playing with the ribbon on her bouquet. Her father was still getting ready to the side, the wedding planner trying to fix a stain problem on his jacket.
"Really dad?" she hissed at him, her nervous getting the best of her. He just smiled sheepishly.
"Now, Boruto, you need to hold on to the basket really good okay? Mommy will be throwing flowers with Himawari." Hinata tried to explain to her two year old. Her daughter still attached to her hip. Sakura smiled when she connected eyes with the little one. Ino stepped in front of her taking her bouquet to fix the ribbon she had pulled undone.
"Sakura!" Her friend chastised her.
"Why didn't we elope like Temari and Shikamaru?" Sakura pulled on the skirt, fluffing it out.
"Because you care about your families wishes, while we didn't." Temari eased the tension in her friend.
"Right..." Sakura looked at her father, whose jacket almost ready. "Family." She sighed.
"Besides' I think Itachi would have hunted you two down and still would still make you go through the official ceremony."
"What if he's not there?" Sakura initiated, taking the bouquet back.
"He's there. Naruto would never let him ditch his own wedding. He'll let him out of the handcuffs before the wedding night."
"What?"
"I'm joking!" Hianta blushed, waving her hands. The other girls laughed. Tenten came through the double doors, looking slightly startled.
"What's taking so long?"
"My dad spilled something on his jacket."
"Oh thank god, Sasuke is getting worried you bolted."
"Why would I bolt? He's the one whose most likely to bolt!" Sakura defended herself.
"All ready." Her dad came offering his arm. Sakura smiled at him, earning a kiss on the forehead. "Ready blossom?"
"As I'll ever be." The girls got in line, the wedding song, ringing out. Sakura felt her legs wobble a little, the moment the doors opened, everyone going through first. When it was her time she took the first step the nerves almost making her stumble. Looking towards the front, she catches, Sasuke's eyes. She notices the way he bite down on the corner of his lip. She smiles, keeping steady on the uneven ground. When they get there, the usual calm and collective Sasuke was smiling, she could see his eyes slightly misty.
"Hey." She mouthed, trying to keep her own tears in.
"Hey." he mouthed back, taking her hand. Turning to face towards each other, they held hands.
"Last chance? Wanna run?" She asked.
"Not unless I drag you with me." The officiant, made a noise bringing their attention to him.
"Dearly beloved..." He began to the service, the attention on the two who couldn't look away from one another.
