Viren POV
"Don't leave me Viren, I can't live without you..." tears fall from her eyes like a waterfall. They are extremely red due to crying for too long.
I turn around to look at her and the house which holds too many memories. The pain in her eyes urges me to stay back, but the pain in my heart pushes me to leave everything behind.
"I'm sorry but I can't, I have to leave to feel alive. But I hope to see you again..."
I depart with this ending note,

Still, after 4 years, I can't feel alive.
My departing words to my crying mother bother me every morning. Every morning I wake up to her crying face, and today is no change.
I reluctantly get out of the bed and enter the bathroom to do my morning routine and to get decked for the day.
Checking my Rolex watch, my eyes widen looking at the time.
'Shit' I mumble because I have a meeting in 30 minutes and my office is 40 minutes drive from my hotel. And Everyone knows New York traffic is torture.
I hastily grab my wallet and phone from the nightstand and exit the room, all the while condemning my PA for not waking me up on time.
As I reach the lobby of my hotel. Everybody ceases what they were doing and greets me.
I ignore them as usual and walk to the car waiting for me in front. After 40 minutes of riding in the car and checking on some mails, I reach the office and As usual, everybody halts what they are doing and greets me.
I continue my walk towards the elevator and press on my floor.
As I exit the elevator I'm greeted by the irksome voice of my secretary, " Good morning sir, you are looking handsome as always". I frown at her but do not comment because at the moment my priority is to join the meeting because I'm already late.Entering the conference hall, I nod at my colleagues and business associates. Being my powerful self, nobody dares to point out that I'm late.
I walk towards my designated seat and the meeting progress.

The meeting was promising, I got the deal which will determine the future of our company.
I was residing here for the past 4 years, working day and night to make this Company number one in New York.
I enter my office later and start going through the files and emailing my staff.
I'm departing for India today.
That thought itself makes me smile.
India is where my family lives. I was here for the last few years working my ass off.As I'm going through the files, my secretary enters my cabin without knocking.
"Hey, handsome! Congratulations on the deal" she exclaims coming towards me.
"What did you say? " I growl at her. Frustrated by her actions today.
She gasps.
"Simply because we fucked doesn't mean I like you or we're in any relationship. Do you get it ?" I declare banging my hand on the table.
she meekly nods and leaves.
I don't know what I was thinking about getting involved with her, it was a fucking mistake. But she has been a reliable, cool, and sexy assistant. She keeps the work environment interesting by flirting with me and wearing those deep-neck blouses with fitted skirts showing her sexy behind. And I know better than to be involved with my staff but she was a drunken mistake.
As I'm seething in anger my phone chimes.
I check the caller and a smile finds its way on my face.
"Hi, Di (sister) "I say on the phone."Viren how are you? " She asks back.
" fine" I reply, twirling the pen in my hand.
" So when are you returning? " she asks.
"My flight is today I'll be there tomorrow " I inform her.
" Okay see you soon and listen Pari was asking for you, I hope you remember it's her birthday this Sunday " Di informs and hangs up.
Oh shit, I forgot about her birthday...
My princess, she's the heart of our family. Everybody adores her. She was the only reason I returned to India a year back.
After coming to New York, I lost connection with my family. I was so lost in myself that I didn't realize anyone else's pain.
But a year back, Pallavi Di send me a video of our 2-year-old Princess asking who her Viren Uncle is? That day I realized I need my family as much as they do me.
So the next day I booked a flight to India and met my niece.
After going there, I realized I need to return. Our business in India is not thriving.
all these are tales of the past but presently, I need to board a plane and depart to India. So I finish my work at the office and announce my departure and a warning that I still run this palace and no casualties will be tolerated.
After the speech, I travel directly to the airport, where my jet is waiting.
I board the jet and got back to work.
After conducting some work I check the time and it was half-past 12, so I wrap up my work and go to the bedroom on the plane. Sleep comes to me with anticipation of my tomorrow and what India holds for me this time.
