CHAPTER 18

Paakhi's POV

Today Riya is coming for food tasting at the cafe.
So Adi and I are hustling around to get there before her.

Maanu is not coming with us because she has a meeting with other contractors.

"Maanu!!! We are leaving for the cafe," I shouted from the living room to Maanu who was getting ready in her room.

"Okay," she replied.

"And don't forget to call Raju uncle for decorations. "....... I further added.

"Ya okay and do remember to talk about the cutlery and all. " she shouted back.

Today Adi took off from work because we really need help, as the party is in two days.

We together exited our apartment and decided to take a walk to the cafe.

"So how's life? " Adi asked me.
I looked towards her and chuckled "As if there is anything amazing going on in my life to even talk about. "....

"Oh please! Maanu told me about your fight with your Mr. Khadoos. "..she said while smiling at me.

"Excuse me! He is not MINE! " I said emphasizing on 'mine'.

"oh of course! " she said while nodding innocently.
I rolled my eyes at her and recalled Mr. Khadoos and my encounter two days ago.
How his eyes were warm and happy but only for a second and after that he was back to his grumpy self.

Ughhh Paakhiii, don't think about him and spoil your mood.

I told myself and realized that we have reached our destination. We entered the cafe and directly moved in the direction of the kitchen to find Uncle Abby.

As we entered the kitchen, actually not entered but barged in to find everyone galloping around here and there and dishes lying on one side of the table.

"Oh, girls! Welcome. So how are you today? " uncle asked when he noticed us standing at the door.

"I'm so nervous, I just hope everything goes smoothly and they would like the food. "I said while fidgeting.

"Paakhi my child, just believe in god! Everything is going to be perfect and I know this," he said coming towards me and holding my hands.

I smiled at him and hugged him.

Our hug was broken when a waitress Sofie came in and said that there our guest at the front asking for me.

I turned towards Adi and she nodded at me and together we went to the front to see Riya standing there with a handsome man beside her.
I was still looking at him when I heard Adi murmuring something like "This jerk... Has to be everywhere... " I looked towards her in a questioning manner when she just shrugged.
I decided to leave it for now and welcome our clients.

"Hi, Riya. Thank you for coming. "

"Oh please, I should be the one apologizing to dump so much work on you guys in such a small frame of time. By the way, this is my cousin brother Shaurya. "Riya said while introducing her brother.

I welcomed him and took them to a table at back. As we were walking towards our table at the back I heard Shaurya grunt. So I turned around and asked him if he was okay. When he just smiled and shrugged.

However, I noticed Adi behind him smiling.

When we reached our table. We all took a seat around the table making me sit beside
Riya and on the other side of her sat her brother and then Aditi.
