chamber of secrets

you are a chamber of secrets
a mystery

there are so many meanings behind smiles
tears
and frowns

we only tell people what they want to hear
not the brutal truth

sometimes the truth hurts
losing a friend or lover because you told them the raw truth is alright
because they will look back after a while
and thank you for being honest

sometimes finding out the hard way hurts more than having someone open your eyes to the problem

but alas, you form a chamber of secrets
secrets you'd never tell
whether it was if you lied to me or if you did something unforgivable
you'd never tell

but it's okay
i'll keep it hidden
even though we both know what you did
