Olivia's POV

The attic is dark and cold. I pull my little scrap of a blanket closer around my shivering body. The door creeks open just as I'm dozing off.

"Wakey wakey Little Livy" I hear Beta Cedric's slimy voice croon. I shake my head. Keeping my head down and trying to melt into the wall.

"N-not tonight p-please" I beg. Just wanting to sleep. I hear him chuckle. Then I feel him bend down so that he's pinning me under him. I'm stuck between him and my once protective wall.

"Look at me Livy" he commands and I open my eyes to look into his. He's grinning is usual grin he has when he's about to use me. His hands travel down from my arms and to my waist.

I look around the room trying to think of anything but what's happening when I notice the door is open. This gives me an idea. I turn back to Cedric and try to smile. He looks at me confused.

"C-can I be on top?" I say. Trying to seem flirty. Cedric seems to buy it and grins. He flips us over so that I'm straddling him. I lean down and start to kiss his neck. I cringe every time my lips make contact with his greasy skin. He finally releases his death grip on my waist and I take the opportunity to run.

I barely make it two feet towards the door before I'm thrown to the ground and have Cedric grinning at me.

"Tsk tsk. What a bad girl" he mocks. Leaning over my body.

"N-no p-please don't" I beg. He just laughs.

"Bad girls get what they deserve," he says leaning down.

"No!"

I jump forward. Awaking from my nightmare. Once I've calmed down I take a moment to assess my surrounding. I'm in a white room with a tiled floor. I'm in a cot next to a bunch of different machines. All of them humming and beeping.

My nose then picks up the most beautiful scent. It smelled like cookies were being taken out of the oven. I breathed in gulps of this amazing smelling air.

Phobe was up and awake due to the scent. She was bouncing up and down and pacing back and forth.

The door opened and in walked the most beautiful man I'd ever seen. He was tall. Maybe 6 foot 3. He had cropped brown hair and dark eyes. He was staring back at me. Studying me. Probably just as much as I was studying him.

"You're awake," he said, smiling, breaking the silence that had surrounded us. He took a step towards me and I sunk back into the bed on instinct. As beautiful as this man was I couldn't trust him. A frown flashed across his face. I suddenly felt saddened. I didn't want to make him sad. Something urged me to go over and comfort him but I stayed on the bed. Not trusting him or me.

"How're you feeling?" He asked gently. Taking another step closer to me. I shrug. Not trusting my voice.

"Do you want some water?" He asks. I nod. Noticing how dry my throat felt. He goes over to a counter next to the door and pours me some water. He slowly makes his way next to me and places the water on my side table before taking a seat next to my bed. I don't take my eyes off of him. I push myself as far to the opposite edge of the bed as I can.

Go to him

Phobe urges me.

Why?

I ask. Not understanding why she's so open to trusting him.

Mate. Dumbass.

She replies. I look at the handsome man in shock.

"M-mate?" I stutter. Trying to confirm the words of my wolf. He looks at me and smiles. Nodding his head. I start to cry and the smile falls from his face. He stands quickly and I yelp and duck my head. I hear growling and look back up. His face is full of anger and hate and I start to cry even harder. He storms out of the room and slams the door.

I wait for ten minutes until the door opens again to reveal a familiar face. Conner steps in and hurrys over to my crying form. Although I'm still wary of him. He is the only person in years to show me kindness so I let him wrap his arms around me. I just cry into his chest.

"Shhhh, don't worry. He's not going to hurt you" Conner croons into my ear. I just whimper.

"He d-d-doesn't w-want me" I sob. Conner rubs my back.

"That's not true hun" he soothes. I look at him and he pulls back to look me in the eye.

"Promise?" I ask. I feel like a little child. But I've been told for so many years that Cedric's the only man who would ever want me so I can't believe someone so beautiful could. Conner nods and I hiccup a little.

"I'm gonna send him back in. Ok?" He says asking my permission. I just nod. Conner leaves and not ten seconds later the man appears again in the doorway. This time he doesn't hesitate to come closer. He doesn't seem as angry anymore, but I instinctively lean back.

"W-whats your n-name?" I ask. Trying to break the silence. I keep my eyes glued to the bed sheets

"Lex" he responds. I smile down at my hands at his name. It suits him.

"What's yours?" He asks. Smiling at me calmly.

"Olivia," I say back quietly. Looking up at him quickly to see his reaction.

"Olivia," he says. Sounding out the syllables slowly. It sounds perfect coming from him. I can't help but blush.

"I'm so glad I found you" he confesses. I look up. Surprised.

"You... you want me?" I ask. Unsure of my own voice. He looks at me. And reaches out. Indicating he wants me to hold his hand. I hesitantly bring my hand to his and the sparks erupt as soon as we touch. I gasp at the feeling. He smiles at me. Obviously feeling the same way.

"There is nothing I want more than you"
