Lex POV

I stare down at the beautiful girl asleep with her head on my shoulder. Her face is contorted into a frown and her body is shaking sligtly. I can feel fear radiating off of her. I shake her a bit. Attempting to wake her up from her bad dream.

"Olive, wake up" I say. My shaking becoming stronger. Her eyes shoot open and she quickly pushes herself to the opposite side of the couch. I frown.

"Hey it's ok, I'm not gonna hurt you" I promise. Making sure to maintain eye contact. Her tensed up shoulders relax a little and she nods.

"Sorry" I hear her whisper.

"You don't need to apologize Liv" I assure her. I reach out my hand. Praying to the moon goddess that she takes it. She looks at it and seems to be battling wither herself. She eventually reaches out.

The familiar sparks shoot thru my arm and up my body, making me feel warm. She even moves a little so that she's a bit closer to me. This makes me break out into a huge grin.

"So you're the Alpha?" She asks. Her voice a little stronger than I've heard it before. I nod.

"Yup. Ever since I turned 16. My dad couldn't wait to step down" I laugh. A small smile graces her face for a second.

"Do you like it?" She asks.

"Sometimes. It feels great being respected but there's a lot of pressure" I explain. She nods. We fall into an awkward silence. I want so badly to ask about her past. Why there's a fucking love bite on her neck. Who made her so scared. I know that it's too soon though. I need to make sure she is comfortable with me.

Just as she's opening her mouth to speak the door opens. She quickly cowers into the couch. I frown and look up to see that Conner has entered the room. Olivia looks up at him and relaxes. I don't like that she's more comfortable with him than me.

"Hello Luna" he say bowing his head towards her. She blushes. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen. But jealousy shoots up my spine as I know the cause of the blush is another man.

"What do you want?" I snarl. Conner turns his attention to me and smirks a bit.

"Your parents have requested you" he says. I sigh.

"Can you tell them I'm busy" I say. The jealousy disappearing. The idea of dealing with my parents is too much right now.

"They know you're busy. That's the reason they wanna see you. They wanna meet The new Luna" he says. I sigh. Cursing Elinor in my head for telling them. I don't think that Olivia currently has the mental capacity to deal with my parents. They're awesome and fun they can just be a lot sometimes. I turn to Olivia.

"I'll be back in a bit. I just have to talk to my parents" I explain.

"Will you come back" she asks. Her face all scrunched. I almost melt at how cute she is. Oz is jumping around in my head at the fact that she wants us near her.

"I promise" I say. She nods. I look over to Conner who's smiling at us.

"Can you stay here" I ask. He nods and move closer to my mate. I hold my hand out.

"If you so much as touch her. I'll kill you" I whisper into his ear so that Olive doesn't here me. He just looks at me and smiles.

"Got it chief" he say and salutes me. I sigh. He's my best friend. He knows I can't kill him. But beat him to a pulp is something I can, and will, do.

I reluctantly step out of the room and make my way to my parents bedroom. I knock on their door and I hear shuffling. The door opens and reveals my mother smiling her biggest grin and holding out cookies. She frowns when she realizes it's just me in the hallway.

"Where is she" she asks. Stepping out the door way and looking up and down the hall as if I was hiding her.

"Well hello to you too Mom" I smirk. My mom is pretty crazy sometimes. She turns and looks back up at me.

"I don't require your sarcasm, what I do require is your mate. I wanna know the girl who's gonna be my daughter in law!" She demands. I sigh.

"I can't right now" I try to explain.

"Why not" my mom huffs and crosses her arm. I sight and run my hand through my hair.

"She's not ok" I say. My mom gets a confused look on her face.

"What's wrong?"  She asks.

"Can we go inside?" I ask. Not wanting to expose my mates struggles to the entire pack. She nods and steps back in the room I follow her.

We enter the sitting room portion of their room where my father is sitting. He smiles at me and frowns when he sees I'm alone.

"Where-" he starts to ask but I hold up my hand.

"I'm getting there" I say and fall into one of my favorite chairs. I begin to tell him about my mate who's a few doors down. I explain how she reacts to me or anything really. The hickey on her neck and how to get her to talk to me about it.  Once I finish they look at me with eyes full of sympathy.

"Poor girl" my mom sighs. I just nod.

"I just want her trust. I want her to love me" I whine. My dad nods.

"Well there are some things we need to do" my mom says. Standing.

"What?" I ask and stand as well as I follow her to the door.

"Well from what you've told me this girl hasn't had a shower, She hasn't brushed her teeth, And she needs some clothes" my mom states. I feel guilt creep into my mind. I've been to busy thinking about gaining her trust I hadn't even thought about her comfort.

My mom leaves the apartment and goes one door down. She knocks and Elinor's son Patrick opens the door.

"Hey munchkin can you grab your mom for me" she coos. Patrick nods and waddles off.

"What're you doing" I ask. My mother gives me a stern look.

"Well it's pretty obvious that she won't be comfortable being in public for awhile. But she needs clothes. So I'm sending Ellie out. I nod. My mom is a smart caring woman. That's why she's a great Luna. Elinor comes to her door.

"What's up Leah?" She asks my mom with a smile. Although my mother is not El's mom she still loves and respects her. Elinors mom never found her mate. She married a warrior wolf who's mate rejected him.

"Hey El, do you have time to go out and get Hunter's mate some clothes?" My mom asks. Elinor's face lights up.

"Of course! Let me make sure Johnny can handle Patrick for a bit and then I'll head out immediately." She says excitedly. Johnathan Hartford is Elinor's mate, they knew each other from birth and everyone always kind of knew that they'd end up being mates. On Elinor's sixteenth birthday he made sure that he picked her up before school with a bouquet of roses and a giant teddy bear. They've been married for three years, little Patrick is two years old.

"I'm going to ask her about sizes. I'll be back with the information" my mother says and turns down the hallway towards the game room. I start to protest.

"Mom I don't wanna overwhelm her with people!" I exclaim. She stops short. Almost making me crash into her. She turns to look at me with a stern look.

"Do you wanna ask what sizes she wears?" She asks bluntly. I stop and think. I know asking her information like that would make her uncomfortable. She's probably think I was judging her or something.

"Fine. Just be calm" I give in. My moms face instantly relaxes and she turns once again and practically skips down the hallway.
