I waited outside near a bush in the parking lot for mom. Day one of school completed. I looke behind me and saw Christopher. He was looking at the woods. I quickly sat back down. I dont think he can see me behind the bushes. I decided to wait till he left to see what he was staring at. Was it what i saw this morning? The shack and smoke?
"Hey." It was Anna. I looked up at her.
"Hey." She sat down next to me.
" i saw that kid." She said. Does she mean Christopher?
"Yea. He is cool." I replied smiling. He walked by but luckily didnt see me. He was smiling the whole time.
"Do you like him?" She asked me.
"Maybe." I replied.
"Can i tell you something.?" She asked me. I looked at her with concern.
"You know that girl Alexia?" She asked
"Yea. She didnt touch you did she."
"No. Her and her boyfriend got into a fight a few minutes ago, she ran off into the woods. Where the smoke was coming from."
"Uh. Im going to go check on her i guess. Make sure she is okay. Have mom come by in about thirty minutes or so. Text or call before you come." I kissed her on her forehead and headed down the street where the forest started. I walked in the forest yelling Alexia's name. I didnt get an answer.
I became freaked out when i hered to male voices. I quickly got behind a tree to hide.
"Yea. I dont know as if kiddnapping would do the trick." One guy said. Another started loudly laughing.
"Way out here, noone could find them." He said chuckling, i turned around to see how far i went. Oh my god. I went further then i wanted to. I must have been out here for fourty minutes or more walking. Why didnt Anna call me? I looked at my phone and it said ' three missed calls from Anna , and a Text from Mom.' The text said 'whenever you read this i want u to text me hope u r okay.' I read that over and over again. Thinking if i would ever get out.
"Mmm hello." A deep voice said behind me. Startled i jumped i turned around to see Christopher
"What the heck are yoy doing out here?" I whispered
"Better yet what are YOU doing out here.?" He asked. I was still leaned up against the tree looking up at him. He put his arms on the tree to where my body was right under his.
He had a huge smile on his face
"Alexia and Josh got into a fight, appearently she ran in the woods. I went to see if she is okay. I think i went out further then i wanted to." I said. He kept looking down at my lips and back to my eyes.
"Yes, you went out really far. Its about another fourty minute-" he was caught of by the sound of a mans voice.
"Did you here that Joe?" A man asked
I looked at Chris in fright. He put his hand over my mouth and we ran to a tree that we could climb up. I dont think i moved that fast in my life. By the time we were both up there, we could see everything. The two men, it was a shack, and yes fire, but they couldnt see us. I was sitting really close to Chris when i started thinkin about my family. If i died because of these two men. I couldnt even bare to think about it. I started crying. It was a low cry, so they couldnt here me.
"Are you okay?" Chris asked me. I wipped the tears from my face
"Yep." I replied with a break in my voice.
"No your not. Come here." I looked up at him and his arms were openso i could give him a hug. I took it. I sat on his lap and just balled. What if we couldnt get away?
"Hey, we are gonna get out of this." I looked up at him and he looked down at me.. Our eyes locked. He moved in for a kiss and this time i let him. This boy set fireworks off. And i enjoyed every minute of it.
