"I'M not sure I want you to go now" Emmy told her younger sister when drinking her coffee on the morning of the national park service trip to the mountains.
"Emmy. I'm going; you'll be fine, I'll be fine, I will be back in 5 days." Isla told the woman.
Sighing Emmy reluctantly grabbed her car keys and made sure Isla had everything on the list she'd written for the girl.As the King sisters parked, Emmy and Isla got out of the scarlet red 1984 Dodge Rampage they'd inherited from their father.
"Be careful, no boys, text me every morning and night. Okay? Got it? Good. I love you so much okay. I'll see you when you get back" Emmy told the girl making her nod her head along with her.
"I love you too Emmy. I'll see you when I get back. Be safe." Isla replied and ran off to the bus, the girl grinning happily due to the fact she'd be able to see a bit of nature. Whilst having greenery around in West Ham, she'd prefer to be up close to raw nature and feel free in the wilderness.
"I can't wait to be engrossed in the frondescence in the mountains" Isla told Allie
"I have no fucking idea what you just said Isla but okay" Will told the short girl, ruffling her chestnut hair making her roll her emerald eyes at the boy.
"Will LeClair if you don't stop ruffling my hair-" Isla began but was cut off by Will doing it again, agitating the 5ft 3" girl.
Playfully she jumped on Will's back and covered his eyes.Getting on the yellow bus, Isla sat in the middle of the bus along with Cassandra, Will, Allie, Sam and Becca. Isla began to joke and play around with the teenagers she considered close friends, with Becca taking photos of everyone on the bus. As everyone began to settle down from the excitement of being away from their families for days with little to no authority figures bossing them around, Cassandra and Isla began to fall asleep on each other with Isla wearing her headphones listening to U2, a band her dad got her into before his and his wife's tragic passing 3 years earlier that broke a 14 year old Isla and a 19 year old Emmy.
"Change of plans. Rock slides, the roads closed. You're back home" the bus driver announced to the bus full of children he was driving, the same going for the other two buses.
Groaning at the sudden change from complete silence and darkness to a bus full of moody, now awake, teenagers murmuring under the lights of the bus; Isla stretched making sure not to hit a still partially asleep Cassandra at her side or the hard window.
As all the teenagers came together on the green where they had departed from merely hours ago, Isla couldn't help the grave feeling that over came her seeing that Emmy wasn't stood there sulking about being dragged out of bed at 12am. Dialling her sisters number 15 times in total before giving up, Isla grabbed her bag and told Cassandra and Allie she was going home to see if Emmy was alright as her anxiety was high at that point.
"Got a lighter?" A voice suddenly asked from beside the small girl whilst walking home.
Turning she saw Nick Gallo with a cigarette hanging from his soft pink lips. Nodding softly, Isla dug out the lighter she used to light her cigarettes with, a nasty habit she picked up after her parents death. Grabbing her own box from the pocket of the big denim jacket she was wearing, she lit her own aswell.
"You smoke?" The tall boy asked her smirking
"I'm not proud of it but yes." She admittingly sighed to the Gallo boy.
"Now that surprises me. You don't seem like the type, Isla King."
"Well Nick Gallo, I happen to be full of surprises"
"Well I intend to find out" he replied smirking before turning up the concrete pathway to his house.
As Isla reached her door, she grew scared. Emmy would be awake after Islas phone calls, so why was the house completely dark? She wondered where or what her sister was doing. As she opened the blue painted front door, she quickly shut it and ran up the stairs opening every door to every room looking for her sister, shouting her name.
"Emmy! Emmy! Please be here. Where are you?"
Picking up her phone once more and calling her sister over and over again until she gave up; sinking to the floor, moving down the white wallpapered walls of the King household, whimpering softly as she tried to calm down she heard her phone go off with a text informing her to come back to the place the bus had dropped them off, from Cassandra. Shaking her head softly at herself, she picked herself and her phone up and began to walk back.
