Chapter 12

Saya's P.O.V

I woke up the next morning to find Akane lying next to me with her body curled up behind me, her arm around me hugging me to her. I missed this. We used to cuddle up when we were younger but stopped as we grew up. Turning and laying with my head on her full chest, I took a deep breath and realised that she smelt like roses and earth. Her warmth radiated onto me and I felt myself feel at ease and happy for once in a long time. She always had this effect on me as the older twin and a best friend.
"You awake sweetie?" Her soft voice asked me. Looking up, I saw her eyes watching me gently.
"Did anything happen whilst I was asleep?" I asked.
"They've made a plan to capture Annie. We're not to be involved though due to Erwin saying we were to be somewhere else. Where though I have no clue." She informed me sighing in defeat. I knew it bugged her as well, as much as it bugged me. The reason we weren't to be involved also had to do with her taking the blame yesterday so the soldiers were wary around her. This wasn't fair. There was knock at the door taking me out of my thoughts. "Who is it?" Akane asked her voice emotionless though her face said otherwise.
"It's Hanji." They replied, opening the door to look in on us. Hanji looked tired as she looked at us, but a saddened smile stained her face. "They want you in the labs while we try to take out Annie. Don't try to interfere. Levi's already annoyed enough as it is today." She informed us. The labs huh? Great.... More experiments to perform on us..... I had a feeling that they wouldn't go easy on us today either.....

We slowly and reluctantly got changed out of our uniform and into something we didn't mind getting dirty. I slipped on a pair of baggy shorts and a simple black strap top and Akane got changed into jeans and an old checked shirt. Once we were changed, we walked down to the labs whilst we dragged our feet the whole way there. Both of us hated these days, especially when Hanji wasn't around.

We both walked into the labs fully prepared for what was about to happen to us already knowing that we would have a good few hours of pain.
"Why hello, Akane, Saya. Please, take a seat." A rough but patronising voice called out to us whilst we were still in the doorway. We looked at each other and gave a painful smile before we walked to our separate tables. "Rather quiet today aren't you? Does that mean you're not going to struggle and fight back?" Akane and I both scoffed. As if. As I laid down the men instantly pulled round a curtain that separated us from each other. This sent a small amount of panic through me. I looked at them before I hesitantly laid down. However, as soon as I laid down the men pounced on me, roughly grabbed my arms and legs before they tied me down to the table. My arms were stretched out the insides of them were facing up, the paleness of it standing out under the fluorescent lighting.
"Get off me!" I spat as I attempted to kick out but instantly I failed as the bonds were so tight I couldn't move an inch. They were so tight in fact that they were cutting into my skin and drawing blood.
"Calm down missy. You don't want to retaliate, you'll only hurt yourself more." That was when I decided to stay silent. I didn't know what was happening to Akane but I refused to have her worrying about me. I slowly began to zone out on the discussion they were having about what they were going to do to me.

I was thinking about Petra and what life could have been like if she survived. But just as I was I had a sharp pain run through my arm. I looked to see several syringes sticking out my arm each with a different type of fluid in them.
"This one sharpens the sight." The man smirked before he violently pulled down on the plunger. I tightened my fists, my nails dug into my palms. After a few seconds my eyesight went completely and I couldn't see a thing. They had given me the messed up solutions. Not the ones Hanji had instructed them. "This one heightens your movements." He told me as he pulled down the plunger yet again. After a few minutes of waiting I felt my body go limp as the drug paralysed me, rendering me unable to move. Well shit. I was in the dark and unable to move or fight back. It was silent for a few seconds until Akane's scream broke it."Akane!" I attempted to yell but nothing came out.
"Are you sad that you can't help your poor sister?"  I could hear the patronising sound of the mans voice before I felt another sharp pain through my arm as I'm guessing another syringe was pressed down letting the liquid into my blood stream. "Oh yeah. This one heightens the sense of touch so I'm sorry love but the pains gonna be bitch." His voice was laced with amusement. Then the room was plunged into silence yet again, however, I would hear the occasional moan of pain from Akane and I was still unable to do anything.
