a few months have passed since joe told me his secret and it all started to make sense. no wonder these girls would drool over him as he walked down the hallway and no wonder heidi was so insecure whenever she was in front of jason.

joe and jason's football season was coming up so unfortunately they would have training after school on mondays, wednesdays and even fridays.

joe and i have significantly gotten closer as well. so did heidi and jason and josh and becks. poor sam HAHAH

"okay that's it for today!" rachel, our captain, announced. i picked up my towel and my duffel bag as i proceeded to the girls locker room. i took a quick shower and slipped into some leggings and joe's hoodie. after packing up my stuff, i rushed outside to sit on the bleachers so i could catch joe, jason and sam training. i saw heidi sitting there so i decided to join here.

after their training ended, they huddled around for an announcement of some sort. heidi and i looked at each other, confused. suddenly, the boys cheer loudly and threw joe up in the air. my jaw dropped as i arch an eyebrow at that whole situation.

we grabbed our bags and stood at the end of the bleachers and suddenly, joe sprints up to me and picks me up spinning me around. i squealed loudly as i held on tight.

"what happened?" i asked as he set me down. "i'm captain!" he screams as i scream excitedly. "i'm so happy for you!" i shout as he chuckled, pulling me in for a tight bear hug. heidi and jason watched this whole ordeal from the bleachers and literally captured the whole thing and posted it on their social media platforms.

"let's all go out to celebrate tonight? with mom of course," jason suggested as i nodded excitedly with joe by my side. after the adrenaline had died down i realised how sweaty joe was and when he wanted to put his arm around my waist, i smacked his hand away.

"you're so stinky, go take a shower," i scolded as he chuckled and pecked me on the forehead. heidi gasps and my heart stopped for a good 30 seconds, as jason and joe ran towards the boys locker room.

"did he just-" heidi stutters as i stood in the same position with my mouth wide open, "i-".

i quickly recollected myself and my heart was beating so quickly and i was cold sweating. "do you think he's finally going to ask you out on a date today?" heidi asks as i literally wanted to scream from all these excitement. "i don't know, i really hope so though," i replied with my fingers twisted.

i've been waiting for joe to ask me out on a date for a good 2 weeks ever since we both showed signs to each other that we liked each other. heidi spilled the beans that joe was planning to ask me this month cause he told jason and jason told heidi. of course jason would leak the plan but thank god he did.

we sat by my cars and soon enough, jason, joe and sam emerged from the boys locker. "i call shotgun!" i heard joe shout as i giggled and he jogged towards me and took a seat.

"okay so we're going to the waud's home first and what shall we get for dinner?" heidi asks as joe looked over at me and suggested, "what about mcdonalds?" my stomach did a somersault and the edges of my lips curled into a smile. he remembered my favourite fast food place.

i pulled into their home and mrs waud was there to greet us at the front door.

"why does everyone look so excited?" she asked out of curiosity and i accidentally blurt out the good news. "joe is the new captain for the soccer team!" and jason shoves me. "hey you ruined the surprise!" and joe gives him a death glare.

heidi's eyes widen and winked at me as i could feel my cheeks burning bright red. "well congratulations young man! are you guys going to celebrate tonight?" mrs waud asks as we nod and invited her and jaide to join us.

after hanging out and playing basketball for a while, we split up into mrs waud's car and my car before driving to the nearest mcdonalds.

halfway through the meal, joe places his hand on my shoulders as we all talked about our weeks.

as the dinner came to an end, mrs waud was going to send sam, joe and jason home while i was supposed to send heidi home but suddenly heidi entered mrs waud's car and joe signalled for me to walk over to mrs waud's car.

"kailee jennings, do you want to go on a date with me right now?" he asked as he pulled out a rose out of the car and a wave of 'aw's emerged as i giggle.

"of course," i smiled, accepting the rose.

i hope tonight will be everything i imagined it to be.
