"Clay," I called out to my brother, who was walking out of the school doors. "Clay," I yelled again. "Dude." I pulled on his jacket, causing him to stop.

"What, Nikki?" He looked annoyed.

"I've been calling your name." I let go of his jacket. "I just wanted to let you know that I'm picking something up for dad and then heading to Jeff's."

"Jeff's?" He pulled the headphones off his head. "Do you think that's good for you?"

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes.

"I'm just looking out for you, Nik. In my opinion-"

"Good thing I didn't ask." I cut him off.

I knocked on Jeff's door only for it to open on its own. "Jeff?" I called out as I slowly entered his house. "Jeff, it's me, Nikki." I placed my bag on the kitchen table before hearing some noise in the kitchen. "Jeff?"

"Hi." He was holding his head like he was in pain, and his eyes were squeezed shut.

"Oh my god, are you okay?" I rushed to his side.

"Yeah." He smiled while slowly moving his hands from his head. "Uhh, the doctor said it was normal."

"Why do you look happy about that?"

"Because I'm getting my memory back." Tears formed in his eyes, but I was frozen still.

I should be happy, but somehow I'm terrified.

"That's amazing." I smiled while pulling him into a hug. "Have you remembered anything yet?"

"Some." He sighed as we took a seat. "Bits And piece."

"Anything exciting?" I asked, hoping he would remember me in some way.

"It's mostly been things with my family."

When he said that, I was somewhat relieved.

"Well, hopefully, you'll be back to you in no time." We both smiled at each other.

"Hopefully."

"Shit," I mumbled as I was walking to my car. I was just now leaving Jeff's with all my books in my hand when my phone went off. "Jessica?" I was confused when I read the caller ID.

"Yes?" I questioned why she was calling me.

"Hi." She sounded like she was crying. "I'm not sure why but I feel like if anybody could talk to him, get through to him, it will be you."

"Who?" I rolled my eyes.

"Justin." She sighed. "Please, Nikki, I need him to show up."

"That seems, like, a you problem." I quickly hung up.

I'm not Jessica's biggest fan. Not after everything she did to Hannah, but I can't deny that I care for Justin.

"The things I do," I told myself before driving to Bryce's house. "This boy better be here."

"Uhh, Nikki?" Marcus looked confused as to why I was here. "What are you doing?"

"What are you doing, Marcus?"

"Leaving." He pointed to his car.

"Then, bye." I waved while rolling my eyes. "Justin?" I called out once I made it to the pool area.

"Nikki?" Bryce looked confused while coming out of the pool house. "You here to drink?" He held up his beer.

"I'm here for Justin." I pushed his aside and entered the pool house. "What's up bitch boy." I hoped over the couch before landing on it and Justin.

"Ow, Nik," Justin yelled but didn't bother moving.

"Nikk-" Bryce went to say something more, but I cut him off.

"Goodnight, Bryce." I gave him the middle finger, but he just rolled his eyes and left. "Let's talk."

"About?" He sat up and pulled my legs onto his lap.

"Jessica is worried sick about you, Justin."

"You talked to her?"

"Yeah," I said in a duh tone. "All I'm saying is show up for her." He rubbed my leg.

"I know. It's just hard, Nik."

"She loves you, though." He smiled at me.

"How's Jeff?"

"Uhh, okay." I tried to control my facial expression.

"You're lying." He pulled me closer to his body.

"He's slowly starting to remember things." I ran my hands through my hair.

"That's great." He was happy for him until he saw the tears. "It's not?"

"What if he remembers everything and still wants nothing to do with me? I'm so scared, Justin, that I'll lose him all over again?" He hugged me as I cried. "I'm already falling apart without him."

"It's okay, Nik." He kissed the top of my head. "I'm here for you."

"Thanks." I pulled away from him. "Don't let jess go through the pain alone."

"Hey." He pulled my hand back once I got up. "The tapes."

"I know." I held his hand. " and it's okay, but you need to make things right."

"I didn't think you'd listen to them."

"Clays keeping me updated, and he's not close to being done with him, but from what Hannah told me, I can only imagine what's on them."

He sighed. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay." I kissed his head before leaning on Bryce's pool house.

I know I keeping saying it's okay but is it ever going to be okay?
