Sooo real quick heads up I'm just gonna let everybody know that I'm extremely new to this and really nervous because it's something I've never done before but always wanted to do. I thought if anything I'll start small like this story and just see where it goes from here. I also want to apologize in advance for my lack of or overuse of punctuation since I'm not confident in putting them in the right place. Alrighty, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy.

Taylor (Present-Day)
So I'm just gonna jump in here real quick from time to time and give you guys some idea of what my environment was at the time. I'm not sure how to explain through my 8 yo self, so present selfs gonna do it.
My mom and I lived with my grandma at the time because you know, times got tough and all that. We lived in a granny flat in the
backyard and it was basically like a big bedroom with a full bathroom, we just didn't have a kitchen or anything, that was in the main house. I'm probably not gonna get into a whole bunch of detail but I'll try my best in explaining everything.
In my grandmas backyard there were two granny flats. One my mom and I lived in. The other was empty.
We had a fully grown avocado tree (which failed to give said fruit on multiple occasions). We had a pet cemetery under the tree..... that was probably why. Alrighty that's it for this one, I'll do my best in making my present-self explanations much shorter.

Taylor (8yo)
I'm sleeping in bed next to my mom, it's around 4 O'clock in the morning and my moms phone alarm goes off. She starts to wake up for work but to her disbelief, so did I. ( I was an extremely heavy sleeper and wasn't a morning person AT ALL).
Mom : "Wow! What are you doing awake, it's early ?"
Taylor : "I don't know... I'm just awake now"
She continues to be shocked but happy because now she doesn't have to deal with waking me up ( Again, I was not a morning person so waking me up was a nightmare ).
I stretched, yawned, flopped on the bed, got back up etc. you know the basic waking up rituals. My mom on the other hand didn't have these rituals. She was considered an "early bird", chipper and ready to take on the day the moment her eyes opened. ( Even till this day it's something I can't even fathom ).
Mom: "Okay, lets go make breakfast."
Instantly I got chills. That feeling of dread knowing I have to go in the house. I'm afraid of my grandmas house. Why, I'm not really sure but it just doesn't feel comfortable all the time.... especially in the dark. I'm really afraid of the dark.
I followed my mom out of the room and grabbed onto the back of her shirt because it was still dark.
As we make our way to the main house, my fear kept escalating the closer we got to the back door. I didn't know what was wrong with me. My fear was never so intense before.... so why now? We reach the back door, I look around my mom and look into the house. It's pitch black.

Taylor (Present-Day)
Quick explanation about my grandmas house.... it's old and positioned a few feet of the ground so it has a crawl space below it and you can basically hear anyone moving in any part of the house. Also my grandma was obsessed with old antique furniture so the house basically looked cold and perfect.... kind of like no one lived there.

Taylor (8yo)
I looked inside the glass backdoor and quickly looked away. My mom opens the door and starts to head in but I don't follow.
Mom: "Come on, it's okay."
Taylor: " Turn the light on first." I quietly whine.
She turns the light on.
Mom: "There see? Nothing."
I slowly step inside and jump into the light in the kitchen. My mom laughs.
Mom: "You're such a chicken."
Even though I felt safe in the light, the light only illuminated the kitchen. The rest of the house was pitch black and quiet.
My mom takes stuff out of the fridge and starts making breakfast. I'm leaning on the fridge just watching my mom cook and......I get this feeling like I'm being watched. I continue staring at my mom hoping this feeling will go away. Then I see it. A silhouette appears, on the other side of the kitchen wall. Where my mom can't see it. I smile.
Taylor: "Hi grandma." I whisper.
Grandma stopped right behind the wall, masked in darkness. She made a gesture like she wanted me to go to her. I shook my head because it was too dark, I didn't want to go.
...: "Mija, come here." She whispered.
I continually shook my head no.
Taylor: "Come over here, it's dark over there." I whispered.
She backed away and disappeared. I told my mom.
Taylor: "Mom, grandmas calling me over there, can you see what she wants?".
My mom froze and looked at me as she stopped cooking the eggs.
Mom:"What do you mean grandmas calling you?" She looked a little unsettled but I didn't really pay attention at the time.
Taylor: "Yeah grandma wanted me to go over there but it's dark. Can you go see please."
My mom halted for a second then goes to see what grandma wanted. I'm waiting in the kitchen, picking at the egg in the pan. My mom comes back.
Taylor: "What did she say?"
Mom: " Oh nothing, she just wanted to see who was in the kitchen."

Taylor (Present-Day)
Long story short my mom brought it up when we were talking with my aunts and proceeded in explaining her side of that story.
She said she didn't hear grandma at all. She would of heard someone walking out of the room let alone talking.
She said that I didn't look scared at all and assumed maybe it was her. She goes all the way into my grandmas room and finds her snoring. She lied because she didn't want to scare me and later on that day my mom asked my grandma if we woke her up that morning. She said no. She didn't hear anything. After hearing this I started to piece together how odd it really was. I realized when I saw the silhouette of "grandma" ....she was much taller than her usual 5'4. I can't really piece together how she entered and left. I really could not see any details of her, she was a real silhouette. The fact she made zero noise entering and leaving. And the fact that my mom did not hear anything. My moms a real skeptic so for her to tell me anything of the such is a surprise. After all these revelations, I really started freaking out on how fucking scary that is!! My mom tried to calm me down and say it was probably my great grandma that passed away............... she was 4'11.

Well that's it for this one. I know it's pretty boring but it felt good to share I guess. I understand a lot of people don't believe in things like this. I also consider myself a skeptic when it comes down to it so I get it. Again this is my first time doing this so please....... be gentle. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for reading.
