What Did We Do?

Chapter 1

Today is the 10 year anniversary of Percy's disappearance. I wipe my tears and get out of my bed. I get dressed quickly and organise my cabin into a line. We head down to breakfast. As we pass people, they all give me sympathetic glances and murmured condolences. I lead my cabin to their table then meet with Chiron.

"Are there any leads on Percy?" I ask him.

"No, but there is a counsellor's meeting later" he replies.

"Why?"

"I will tell you there" he says gravely.

"What is so important that you can't tell me NOW!" I know I'm being obnoxious and rude, but I don't care.

"Are you alright?" Chiron asks.

"DO I LOOK ALRIGHT?" I scream.

"Uh- I don't- um-" Chiron stutters, probably because I've never yelled at him before.

I start sobbing and Rachel comes up and leads me away.

"She's just really emotionally strung, because you know, of today." She calls over her shoulder at Chiron. I just start sobbing harder. At my cabin, she sits me down then faces me.

"Annabeth, trust me. He IS NOT dead. I'm the Oracle, remember? I would know. It's not in his fate to die yet."

"Bu- But why would he l- leave me?" I sob.

"I don't know but trust me, he will come back." She replies.

I just cry even harder at that.

"Annie, it's time for the counsellor's meeting now. You ready?" She says softly.

Usually I would scream at her for calling me Annie, but not now.

"Y- yeah" I manage to say.

"Are you sure? Malcolm can always go."

"No" I muster my strength.

"I will go"

We head to the Big House.

Everyone is there. The gods, the Hunters, the Seven, Reyna, Nico. Pretty much everyone. Rachel guides me to my chair, then goes over to Chiron and whispers in his ear, apologising for what I said. She comes back and sits next to me.

"Okay, everyone listen up" Chiron says, "We have news"

The room immediately starts buzzing, as everyone thinks it's about Percy.

"No, it's not that kind of news. Not Percy"

Literally everyone's face falls.

Zeus takes over.

"Lord Chaos has offered the use of his army to help with the war"

"Chaos has an army?" I voice everyone's thoughts.

"Yes, it seems so."

Okaaay

"So, what war?"

"I was about to get to that before someone interrupted me" Zeus glares at me.

"Anyway, it seems that Gaia, the Giants, the Titans AND Typhon have teamed up against us, but Lord Chaos has assured us that his army can defeat them, however, only his son can beat Typhon."

"Chaos has a son?" Once again, I voice everyone's thoughts.

"Again, it seems so." Zeus replies.

"So when are they getting here?" I ask.

"They should be getting here..." Zeus checks his watch, "any second now"

Suddenly screams fill the air.

We all run outside and see about a dozen flaming figures with wings descending from the sky. Another hundred or so step out of a portal that just appeared.

"What IS that?" Chiron asks, his voice filled with equal measures of awe and fear.

A voice sounds from the crater they created.

"That would be us"

"Who are you?" I ask.

"We would be Chaos' Army, the Nightstalkers."

A/N Hi! This is my first fanfiction book that is actually fiction, if that makes sense. Also this is set after the war with Gaia.
