Chapter 10- Waiting

~Jannice'sPOV

I got to the hospital as fast as I  could. I run up to my boyfriend Niall and give him a hug.

"What happened? Whats wrong?" I look around and see everyone except Lily
"Guys... Where Lily?" I begin to freak out and Niall sits me down in his lap
"Jan.." Niall hesitates to give me an answer. "She's in the operating room..."
"What?" A tear slides down my cheek. "Why? What happened"
"She got shot in the side.." Louis says quietly

I look over at Harry. I know this is probably hurting him the most. Even more than it hurts me and Louis. Harry is sitting over in the furthest chair away from all of us. He's just sitting there, crying. 

I walk over to him "I'm so sorry Harry. She'll make it through surgery, I know it." All he does is look up at me and then back down, crying. Seeing him like this hurts us. It hurts all of us. 

Lily has to make it through. If she doesn't make it... I don't even want to think about what Harry might do.

~Harry'sPOV

It should be me in that operating room. Not Lily. If only I would've jumped in front of her. I just wasn't fast enough. Lily doesn't deserve to die. If she doesn't make it... I'm going to do the only thing I can do to be with her... Suicide

That moment of Lily getting shot plays over and over. Every time I close my eyes all I hear is her scream and then a pool of blood.

Waiting to hear the news if she made it or not is killing me....

~Louis'POV

"She's gonna make it though surgery, right Lou?" Zayn whispers to me.
"Yeah, of course" I lie

We all have this feeling that she's not going to make it. Everyone we've ever known that has gotten shot, no matter where, has never made it. 

All of us are so afraid she won't make it. Especially Harry. He cares about her the most out of all of us. We're just hoping for a miracle that she makes it through.

 Suddenly a nurse comes over to where we all are

"Is this the family of Lily Metcalf?" The nurse asks us
"Well, no not exactly." I state the truth. "We are like her family."
"Well I'm very sorry sir, but only relatives are allowed reports on patients" She begins to walk away but I get up and grab her arm.
"Please. We are all she has. She has no parents or siblings. We're all she's got"
"Alright." The nurse gives in. "The doctors successfully removed the bullet and she is out of surgery" A sigh of relief comes over all of us, but then.. The bad news comes. "I'm very sorry to tell you this, but she may not make it through recovery." We all look over to Harry who's face just went pale. "She lost a good amount of blood from being shot, and it seems like she hasn't eaten in a while, so her body may not have enough vitamins and nutrients to reproduce all the blood she lost and recover from surgery."

So she... will die

~Harry'sPOV

My face goes pale as the nurse tells us the news that Lily may not make it... 

I'm gonna have to live my life without her? No, I won't do it. Either she survives... Or I die too

I can't take hearing all of this anymore so I charge out of the hospital. Once I'm outside, I lean up against a wall and just slide down to the ground, crying, crying alot.

I pull out the picture of Lily I keep in my wallet. All I do is stare at it and watch my tears fall onto her face.

"You have to believe she'll make it through recovery, Harry. Its the only thing left to do" A familiar voice says putting a hand on my shoulder, then sitting beside me.

"I just wish I could've saved her somehow." I cry into Jannice's shoulder as she gives me a hug.
"There wasn't anything any of you could've done." She pulls away. "Come on, lets go back inside."

~Lily'sPOV

Hello? Is anyone there? I ask as I walk around this room that is nothing but complete whiteness.  Am I dead? Harry? Louis? Anyone? Please! Someone!? Why is no one answering me? I thought I was with Harry? How did I even end up where I am. Where I am? Is anyone there? I'm really scared. Please, someone answer me!

~Ashton'sPOV

"Is she alright?! Where's Lily?" I ask running up to the One Direction boys.
"What the hell are you doing here, Irwin?" Harry comes up to me.
"I came to see if Lily was alright, Styles. I love her to ya know."
"You loved her. You don't anymore. You broke her heart. And she wouldn't want you here. So you better get your ass out of here before you get hurt." Harry says and then pushes me.

"Whoa, Harry. Calm down." Liam says holding Harry's arm.
"No! I'm not going to calm down! He broke my girls heart! He cheated on her! She didn't deserve that!" He screams breaking from Liam's grip. He charges at me, but I punch him in the mouth before he can punch me.

Now he looks really pissed. He feels his lip to see if it's bleeding, and it is, and then he throws a punch at me and succeed's.

We get into a full on brawl. 

Punch each other, kicking each other and so on.

It takes a while but Zayn and Louis break us apart.

"Is this really how you want Lily to see you? Both of you!?" Jannice screams at us. And then she asks for a nurse to take us into two separate rooms to fix up our cuts we made on each other.

~Jannice'sPOV

"Gosh, I can't believe those two. When Lily wakes up and sees Harry's face and arms covered in cuts she's going to freak" I ramble on.

"He just cares about her too much to have the boy who broke her heart be here, Jannice." Niall says while snuggling with me in one of the small waiting area chairs. 

I really don't understand why Ashton had to come here... I mean, if he really loved her, he wouldn't of cheated on her. Plus, I'm pretty sure Harry is a better decision for Lily anyway.

~Lily'sPOV

I look around some more, not being able to find anyone or anything. Please? Someone, answer me! I'm really scared! Suddenly I become really weak and fall to the ground and everything becomes black. The last thing I see, is a image of Harry and I together, the sweetest memory I have ever had. 

There is only one question I could think of due to everything...

Am I dead?
