Life Gets Tougher as We Get Older(Sequel to New Love)

Chapter 11- Fairy Tales Are Real

~Louis'POV

Waiting for Lily to wake up from surgery is killing us. We've been here for almost 3 days... No one has gotten any sleep because we want to be awake the moment she wakes up, which could be any minute the nurse told us.

This is especially hard on Harry since he thinks Lily being shot is his fault. I honestly think it's no one's fault. It could've happened to any of us. It just happened to be Lily that got shot. I really don't like to think about it though.

"Louis, please tell me Lily is going to wake up." Jannice pleads.

Jannice and Lily have been really close for as long as I can remember. They met in 3rd grade and have been friends since. I've known Lily since I was about 16 and now being almost 23, that's along time. We have grown so close. She's always seen me as that big brother that she's never had and when her parents died when she was 12, I'm the closet thing to family she's got. Besides Jannice and the other boys of course. But me and Lily have a special bond. A bond that's to hard to explain.

"She's going to wake up Jannice, I promise" I say hugging her. 

~Harry'sPOV

I haven't slept in almost 3 days. Every time I tried to sleep, I would have nightmares. 

This wait is killing me on the inside. The only thing that's going to take away the pain is for her to wake up and for her to stay awake.  I need to know she is alive and well. I just can't live my life without her. It's gonna kill me in so many ways if she doesn't make it through this... She has to make it through this battle.

 "How ya doing, mate?" Louis says with a comforting smile
"I just want her to wake up."
"She'll wake up, Harry, you just have to believe she will" He pats my shoulder.

I close my eyes and wish really hard that Lily will wake up. 

When I open my eyes are nurse comes up to us.

"Good news everyone! Lily is finally waking up!" The nurse tells us

My frown turns into the biggest smile I've had in 3 days.

"Can we go see her!?" I leap out of my chair.

"Yes, Mr. Styles, but not all of you at once, only two at a time."

Me and Louis both look at each other and smile.

We slowly walk towards Lily's hospital room and I hesitate to go in, but Louis pushes me.

Lily's eyes flutter open as I walk in and when she see's me her eyes go from a dull blue to a bright blue.

"Harry?" She quietly mumbles

I walk up to her and grab her hand as I sit beside her on her hospital bed.

"Hey, Babe." I smile "How ya feeling?"

"My side hurts real bad" 

"I know, sweetheart" I kiss her hand and then she brings her hand up to my face to feel what happened.

"Harry, what happened to your face?" She feels the few stitches I have.

"It's nothing, Lily. Don't worry about it" I grab her hand and slowly bring it down away from my face.

She glances towards the door.

"You're not going to say hello, Lou?" She does a little laugh.

Louis walk over to her and kisses her forehead.

"Hello, Love" He smiles. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm alright I guess" She does a weak smile. 

Suddenly Ashton appears in Lily's hospital room.

"Ashton? Wh-What are you doing here?" She looks confused and angry.

"I came to see if you're alright." He walks towards her a little.

"Harry, I don't want him here!" Lily's heart rate monitor begins to beep saying her heart-rate is increasing. "Get him away from me! Leave me alone!" The monitor begins increasing even more and me and Louis both freak out and Louis calls for a nurse.

The nurses rush in and both me and Louis restrain Ashton from getting close to Lily.

Everything is so crazy in this moment.

Suddenly a long beep happens and I look at Lily's monitor and I see a flat line.

"Noooooo!" I scream and then Louis has to restrain me from doing anything.

"Lily! Nooo! Please!!" I burst into tears and fall to the ground. 

~Jannice'sPOV

"Whats all the screaming for?" I look over to Niall

"I don't know, lets go see." 

We all walk up to Lily's room and a large gasp from all of us come when we see Harry on the floor crying and a flat line on Lily's monitor.

"No!" I fall into Niall's arms and he strokes my hair.

Lily is actually gone! This can't be happening! Isn't there anyway she can come back to us!?

~Harry'sPOV

"Come on Harry. Its over. She's gone." Liam comes over to me and helps me up.

"No!" I pull away from him. "I need one last kiss from her."

I slowly walk over to Lily and the nurses walk to the side. 

I just stare for a minute. I'm going to miss her so much. She was my everything, now I have nothing. 

I sit down beside her on the bed and I push the hair out of her face. I slowly lean down and press my lips on hers. This is our last kiss. 

"I love you Lily." I whisper as I slowly walk away.

I see Ashton's still there. And I run up to him with a fist in the air "This is all your fault!"

Suddenly, a familiar beep starts again in the room. I stop in mid-punch and turn around and see there is no more flat line on Lily's monitor.

The nurses rush to her. They say everything is normal. They say her heart in working again.

"I love you too, Harry" A mumble comes from her lips as her eyes flutter open.

I burst into happy tears and run over to her.

She sits up and we pull each other into a hug.

"I thought I lost you forever" I cry bringing in her wonderful scent.

"I would never leave this world without fighting first." She pulls away and wipes away my tears. "And I would never leave without fighting for you" She gives me the most amazing smile. 

We give each other a passionate kiss.

"I think you should go Ashton. Now." Lily says in a calm, but firm voice. And Liam and Louis pull him out.

"I love you so much" I say and I pull Lily into another hug. 

~Lily'sPOV

If you're wondering. Yes, I was dead. But guess what brought me back.
